Suomy cycling helmets might be a new name to many cyclists but those that follow motorcycle racing are probably familiar with the brand. It's been producing high-quality motorsport helmets with an emphasis on safety as well as a touch of style for over 20 years and has recently put this same dedication into R&D and attention to detail on its cycling helmet lineup. We first noticed its offerings atop the pros on Team Lampre-Merida and later on the head of three-time cyclocross world champion Wout Van Aert. We're excited to carry these innovative and sharp looking helmets and the version we have here is the Gun Wind S-Line Helmet.

Building helmets that offer protection in the high-speed world of motorsports afford Suomy the expertise to build strong and safe helmets that keep your head cool and are extremely lightweight. The Gun Wind features in-molding technology with an outer shell made of polycarbonate for durability and an inner thermoplastic resin composite reinforcement that strengthens the polystyrene allowing Suomy to use a low-density polystyrene which is not only lighter, it is better able to absorb the energy created on impact. The reinforcements also allow for deeper and more numerous vents that help shed grams and allow for increased intake of cool air and exhaust of hot air.

The inner padding is hypoallergic and features anti-bacterial and anti-odor properties and can easily be removed and washed as needed. And with all of those big vents, you'll be glad that the optional padding with a bug stop net is available to keep those bees out of your bonnet. The biaxial size adjuster offers quick and easy adjustments allowing the helmet to fit a variety of head shapes and if you're like us, go back and forth between wearing a cap underneath or not. Finally, Suomy includes a bag to keep the helmet safe during travel.

My last two helmets were a Giro Savant, and a Bontrager Starvos Mips. I ride almost every day, and was looking for a cooler helmet for the summer. I'm very impressed with the amount of airflow through the helmet. The fitment is different from a mips helmet. After hard rides on hot days, my Mips helmet was drenched. The suomy rides comfortably, extremely cool, and has a different look. So far, so good.

One of my favorite helmets to date. Ordered from Italy before they were imported, just crashed and getting one again. Love the bright colors, unique style, the size (not too big), the many vents. Been a fan since Lampre.
