I always have to get a medium in Patagonia because of my wide shoulders. I think this is a generous medium but I think a small world be too tight. Definitely tight it I had a bulky layer under it. I ordered it because local retailers only had it in black and I wanted coral. I love it!

Let me preface by saying I’ve only tried it on so far after opening the package. It’s a bit bigger than I expected. All other jackets I’ve tried on have been a Large and my other Patagonia is a Large, so of course I got a Large. But I probably could’ve gone with a Medium. I was worried about the wight because I bought if for backpacking, but it’s still really light and unless you are an extreme stickler for weight you’ll be fine. It’s very soft and I got hot just trying it on. I’m really excited about it so far and can’t wait to wear it outside. I will add to this once I’m able to actually try it out.

This is the second puffy I have purchased in this style. The first one was purchased in 2012. This jacket holds up very well - over 8 years and still has life left to go! I use this when I ski, backpack, travel and use this jacket on a daily. My first was blue and got dirty/stained easy so I do recommend the darker colors. The hood is great and can be worn under my ski helmet if I'm desperate enough. Super warm without being too bulky. I sized up this time to gain a little more room for layers. Great puffy, highly recommend.

For sizing reference! 5’5 - 125#. 34 A bra. 26/27 pant size. Initially bought XS. Nice fit except for through the shoulders. Tight, hard to move my arms even in a T-shirt! Otherwise perfect. Exchanging for the small. Hope this helps :) Got the small...HUGE. Like really huge. Fits great in the shoulders but the bust and stomach area look and feel terrible. I’m thinking I’m searching for a new coat darn it! I’m sure the coat is warm and functional, but honestly the fit might be a hard no for my smaller bust and semi-boyish frame lol!!

I love this jacket, in cold climates you def want to go with a hooded version. It's not worth saving and going without. This is light weight, easy to wash, stylish coat and Patagonia stands behind all of their products so you really can't lose. Bought one for my sister as a Christmas gift too, she loves it!

Ordered the Sunset Orange and loved it. The color is beautiful. BUT, the sleeves are really, really long and the sizing isn't the same as the jackets I've purchased before. The cut was weird and made the jacket look boxy. I'm 5'2" and it didn't work for me at all. Darn, I wanted to keep it, but unfortunately I have to return it.

Wore on a 4 day backpacking trip...haven't given it the summit test but I am confident it would be warm. I am constantly cold and appreciated that this packed up well in my bag but was super toasty for cold mornings. Love the hood version. Tried the XXS and XS and kept the XS for layers.

I bought my first Patagonia Down Sweater 5 years ago. It has a few patches of duct tape now after too many nights by the fire, but it's around for the long haul. I wear this jacket for all of my winter adventures. It's my go to recommendation for anyone looking for a new jacket (mama bear, who lives in Maine) because it's reliable, lightweight, pack-able, and cozy.

I bought this for my girlfriend and she wears it every day. She loves the hood, color, length and overall fit. Long, but not too long and never rides up.

This is a great jacket for should seasons and winter time. Very warm and can pack down small for travel, which is a nice feature. It can keep you warm when you are out on the town, or exploring the mountains. Very versatile piece that I cannot recommend enough.

I bought mine primarily for outdoor adventure and it has held up extremely well over 3 years. I'm 5'7 with an athletic build and busty chest, and purchased a large with the intention of layering. I liked the medium sizing better, but it became too tight with sweaters. The jacket is long but it helps prevent the cold from getting in and you can use the elastic ties to cinch and adjust the hem. On it's own, it's kept me very warm during activity. However if it's below 30 and I don't layer with it, I'm definitely cold just walking around. That's in part to buying it a little large and the space it leaves between your skin. The hood is adjustable as well. If it's not staying put, tug it down and it should catch. It easily fits over a helmet. Packed in its own pocket, it gets down about a 10" x 5" cube. It does the job when traveling with it, although not the smallest. Mine has been very durable. Every time I think I've ripped it, the ripstop has done its job. The only downfall I've encounter is cleaning it. I have a bright blue color and some dirt stains just never come out. Not a huge deal but I do feel sloppy sometimes :P

Can't recommend this jacket enough!! I love it so much. It is warm enough to wear out and about town with just a base layer underneath, or it is a great, packable mid-layer for colder days on the ski hill. I am happy I ordered it in black because I can put black repair tape on tears and it is hardly noticeable. Just wish it didn't tear and feathers didn't leak out, but it is a down jacket and if you are active, a tear is inevitable. So far it has withstood extensive use, wearing it almost everyday for a year. Only complaint is the hood does get in the way of zipping my ski shell jacket all the way up since the hood is not helmet compatible. It is fine with my larger, insulated ski jacket that has more room. SIZING-- I am usually a medium and I thought ordering a larger would give me more room to layer underneath. However, the large was too big. The medium fit true to size and I still have room to layer.

I love this coat. It's been a rough winter in Minnesota, and it stayed with me through it all. I use it on its own for kind of chilly days, layered with my nano air for pretty cold days, and layered it under my longer parka for the week that it was -30F. Can't wait to see how it performs climbing in spring and fall.

I bought this for a Christmas gift for my mom and she loves it! I have one myself and can say this sweater is amazing in the winter! It is very lightweight due to the 850 fill down.
