I love this jacket because of the fit. It’s roomy enough that I can layer a puffer underneath and the stretch makes it not feel constricting. The hood is pretty big but I’d prefer that over a smaller one and it’s perfect if you’re wearing a hat.

I got this jacket to replace an old North Face shell. I was impressed with the fit. I'm 5'2" and 115 and a small fit me well with room to layer underneath. Hood is roomy and fits over a climbing helmet nicely. It packs very well and is very lightweight. I love the color selection too. The first time I went to wear it though, the hood cord snapped while I was adjusting it - I wasn't yanking on it either, just a small tug. The cord with super frayed upon inspection. I'm hoping I just got a lemon because it's otherwise a nice shell. Backcountry was great about an exchange, though.

Good entry level rain jacket. Quality looks well made, and hard to beat for the price. Features are pretty basic, but get the job done. Durable enough to ski in, but wouldn’t recommend it.

I am a petite person so got the small; its a little too tight and the arms on the jacket are super long...very weird... I didn't get an opportunity to try out how it handles in the rain but this jacket is Super Thin ...so kind of thinking it couldn't handle anything other than a drizzle, was looking for a hard rain jacket to stay dry! If its just a windbreaker shell that's really how they should advertise it...

I usually wear a medium, but I bought this in a smal and it fits over my puffy jacket perfeclt.y I was looking for a waterproof jacket that didn't make me too hot or sweaty and this is perfect! The tapered seams, and the tailored fit is perfect! I love this jacket.

I bought this jacket for a friend, who was looking to replace an old raincoat that was no longer waterproof. So far she has skied and hiked in the Stormline. It is super light, which makes it easy to pack, and the armpit zips are an added bonus for warm spring skiing! The yellow color is easy to spot and looks great in photos. She is usually a small in everything, and the small fits perfectly.

This BD rainjacket is very comfortable and I absolutely love the stretch fabric. I ordered both a medium and a large, and I ended up going with the large. I am almost always a medium in every shirt I wear, but I am used to rainjackets fitting loosely and I wanted the extra room for layering. I haven't been in any torrential downpours yet, but so far it works great! I ordered the blue steel color and I absolutely love it! A very nice slate blue.

I purchased this for a friend and she digs it. It's breathable due to the arm vents and the stretchy fabric keeps her from feeling restricted. Bottom line: this coat is tough and worth every penny!

I've been in the market for a new rain jacket for a while. Originally I ordered the Patagonia Storm Shell jacket but immediately returned it and ordered this Black Diamond Stormline Rain Jacket. It's awesome - fits well, it is light and breathable but also provides some layering & protection, and fits a lighter layer underneath if the rain turns cold and you need to put on a little extra something. I recently hiked around Switzerland with this jacket in the pouring rain and was very impressed. I am about 5'5'' and 135 lbs and ordered a medium. It's got room to spare and i can layer underneath it comfortably, while having it not be super baggy and still form fitting.

This jacket has been great. I have had it for little over a month and had the chance to use it a handful of times. Once was in a rain/ snow storm on a hike up Grandeur. My friends were wearing their Arcteryx and Patagonia rain coats. I was the only one dry! It is flexes well, is soft and effective. It also fits well over a climbing helmet. Great buy for the price!

BD's new rainwear is awesome! I've gotten a chance to check it out a few times now and I'm sold on it. The material is softer than I was expecting, so it doesn't sound as crinkly as a lot of other rain jackets do. It also has a bit of stretch, which makes for a comfortable layer when moving around in the alpine. The hood is easy to adjust, and the pit zips are a great touch. This is an awesome, lightweight shell that's perfect for just about any adventure you might find yourself on. One note: I'd say this runs true to size, but if you're in between sizes, I'd recommend going down. I'm normally between a small and a medium depending on brands, and the small in BD fits me perfectly.
