I've been wearing the Strider shorts, which are perfect except for their lack of a zippered pocket. I tried these because they have a zippered pocket but ended up returning them. The material felt absolutely awesome! Soft and durable. The liner felt secure and like it wouldn't ride up when I was running. But I just couldn't get past the fit. I wear a small in the Strider and other Patagonia bottoms, but the waist was really big on me in a small. If I sized down to an extra small I'm certain they would have been too tight in the booty. They do have a drawcord waist, but I had to tie it so tightly it made the elastic waist look all weird and bunchy. So these went back and I'm going to grab another pair of the Striders!

I have a couple of pairs of these now and overall I really like them! The material is really nice and comfortable and I like the size of the pocket in the back. I do find that these run a little small and they tend to ride up.

Love these shorts! The design is so cute and the material is great for running. My only complaint is the inner lining tends to ride up while running which is a bit annoying.

Got these for my wife and she loves them. Great fit and style, and works fantastic for running. Nice material and good amount of stretch. We'll have to grab a few more of these.

I am very picky when it comes to shorts. I have petite build and have trouble finding a short that fits perfect. I have always been true to Lululemon but these have given me a change of heart!

I wear them, I give them as gifts, and I come back every season for the new colors. These shorts are the best!

These shorts would be perfect if they were available in my size. Many of the reviews said the shorts ran small and to order up. I wouldn't agree with that review. I am a medium and ordered a large thinking they would fit due to some of the reviews. I ended up returning the shorts because they barely stayed up over my hips. I would order a medium next time.

My only complaint is that they tend to run a little small. The smalls are just barely too small but the mediums are too big. Besides that these shorts are awesome! The liner stays in place and the material is on point! I love taking these on weekend camping trips or trail run weekends because they dry so quickly. I recently went on a two week vacation in California and we stayed at camp spots multiple nights and I rinsed them off in the showers or the creek and they were dry the next morning. The waist band is also fantastic. No chaffing, super comfortable and it stays in place. You gotta try out these shorts no matter what your summer plans are, running, hiking, camping or just hanging out in the heat.

This is my second pair of Nine Trails. Absolutely my favorite running shorts. The relaxed waist band makes these so comfortable - I definitely recommend!

I originally ordered and returned the Strider shorts, since I found them to be cut on the small side. I realized when returning the Striders that the Nine Trails shorts were more of what I was looking for: better coverage 4" vs 3.25" inseam and a zippered pocket! Since the Strider shorts were snug, I sized up to a large in the 9 Trails (I am typically a medium, size 8)--the waist is a little big, but I like having extra room through the thighs.

These are the perfect length! My booty is covered but the short isn't too long either. I wear between a size 4 - 6 and tried on the size small in the store. It fit but was in the smaller side, so I ordered a medium instead. I like my running shorts to have some room to bust a move. It is perfect! I want more!!!

These shorts are too low rise for me to run in. If shorts don't come up over my hip bones, they are not going to stay on when I start running! I guess they'd be ok for casual wear, but I needed running shorts. I ended up with Marmot Circuit shorts, which worked much better for me.
