This light and airy running short, complete with a comfortable moisture-wicking lining, features four low-profile envelope pockets that stash small essential items when you're far from home. The fit of these shorts are fantastic! You don't really notice that you are wearing them, especially with the split leg cut that allows for breathability. With most running shorts, the elastic waist bands seem to always leave marks on my hips after longer runs or workouts but with these, the fit is perfect. They do not dig into your skin at all and almost feel like they are a little baggy but are not in any way. The biggest winning factor for these shorts was definitely the pockets! I usually run with a running belt and for some reason over time it starts to hurt my sides if it is too tight but then when I loosen it up my phone and car key will start to bounce on my lower back and its super annoying! With the phone pocket you can't even tell that its back there, it sits perfectly on the small of your back and doesn't move even on trail runs. Although, I have an iPhone 8 and do not think it would fit a phone much bigger than that. I was also able to have my car key in one of the side pockets and bring along a doggie bag for my furry friend! You would also be able to fit the Patagonia Houdini jacket in the other side pocket if you were out on a drizzly day but then needed to shed that layer! As always the quality of Patagonia is high, these shorts are going to last me a long time and I know I will put them through the ringer! They are however a lighter polyester blend material, so although they are going to be a quick drying short, if you are in a more rainy area, I would go for a darker color so the material doesn't become see through on you!

I'm an avid runner. I have purchased other Patagonia shorts in the past and loved them. I ordered these thinking they would be similar. I needed some quality running shorts. Unfortunately the first time I wore them it rained and I realized how thin the material. By the end of my run, it was embarrassingly inappropriate. I never expected such low quality from Patagonia.

The only thing is about the material of the headband. If it can be more thinner like my existing Nike short, then would be perfect. But overall, Patagonia one is also a good one, it’s lightweight and flattering!

I love these shorts and find myself wearing them even when I'm not running. These shorts are lightweight, non-binding, and have a centered, zippered rear pocket for keys and such. Like another review said, it feels like you are wearing nothing. They fit snug enough to not be baggy but also somehow glide over your body so you do not feel them. Whether I wear them for running or errands or just moving about the house, they do not shift or ride up...well, if they do move, they don't do it enough to be noticeable. The fabric is fabulous - soft, lightweight, quick drying. They are wonderfully cool on a hot day. The inseam is perfect for me; short enough to stay cool but long enough to not be scandalous. Definitely worth the investment.

I got this new version of strider pro 3in shorts because I had the older version of Strider shorts and I like them. This new one didn't disappointed me and it is even lighter and dry faster than the old one, really great quality.

I LOVE these shorts! I have an athletic build, large muscular thighs but a smaller waist. All shorts that fit in the waist are crazy tight in the legs. Not these! First pair of running shorts that have enough room in the leg and are comfortable in the waist. Not to mention they are super lightweight and dry in no time. I’m selling all my other running shorts and just buying these! The only thing I would note is that if you have a long torso, these will be somewhat low rise. Otherwise it’s a pretty true to size fit! I’m 5’6”, athletic build, 140lbs and a medium was perfect! I got the grayish blue ones and they are more gray.

I love these shorts. They fit well and have a great small pocket on the back for my key fob or chapstick. Very comfy.

My wife loves these shorts! She runs in them regularly and says that they fit great! The back pocket is great to keep keys in while running.

Solid short, weird sizing. I love Patagonia, but I have yet to fall in love (completely) with any of their running shorts. With that being said, despite sizing issues, I've found myself grabbing these quite a bit when heading out for trail runs. I am in-between sizes in these shorts and for this reason, I own both small and medium. The lining is just a tad tight in the smalls and the waist is too large in the mediums. Just for reference, I wear small in SmartWool, North Face, Nike, Brooks, and 6 in Lululemon. One thing I *am* crazy about is the pockets. These shorts can haul a surprising amount of gels. This makes them perfect for long trail adventures or races. I used them last year in a 50k and they did just the trick (paired with a handheld water bottle). Also, the material is featherlight (I've never had any issues with chaffing, even when wet), dries super fast, and the length is perfect (they don't ride up). The odor control is definitely an added benefit, it works wonderfully, especially if you tend to wear the same running shorts multiple days in a row (I've definitely *never* done this). (Bonus: they are very flattering).

Why didn't I get these shorts sooner? These are some of the comfiest built in liner shorts i own. The liner fits perfectly sung so you don't get that saggy ass feeling when you're wearing them.

I'm usually hesitant regarding Patagonia shorts, and to be honest, most running shorts in general. I find they're built for the stereotypical runner's build - long and lean - and often fit my waist but not my soccer player's rear and thighs. The medium fit perfectly with a drawstring around the waist to make up for a smaller middle. Additionally, the leg openings aren't too tight for my thunder thighs and actually flare out - it's a dang miracle! Love the fabric and can't wait to wear these ragged.

Dang, these shorts make it feel like I am wearing nothing! I am new to running so I'm pretty sensitive to new clothing. I never noticed these on my body, they were so comfortable. I'm really petite and it is hard to find a short that is actually short enough for me! These were made with a combination of really breathable and stretchy fabrics. The liner was really comfortable and I got to ditch my undies which was awesome as well! I'm 5'2 and petite, not very athletic but small. I wear a 00-0 or a 24-25 waist pant! The XS fits me perfect and the band is wide and comfortable! Feel free to contact me directly for more information!

I just wanted to say that I love Patagonia, and I've been wanting these shorts forever so I finally made the purchase and I am so happy I did. First off you can never have enough running shorts, and you can never have too many black running shorts. So needless to say I purchased the black in these running shorts, it's been a little chilly to wear them running outside so I've been shreddin' the treadmills with these bad boys on! I usually wear xs in most Patagonia items but the xs in these were a little big on me so I purchased the xxs. They are perfect but a wee bit short a little bit more of a booty short than I'm used to but I still love them! Stoked for spring and summer for my trail running in these shorts.

Got these in the pink/orange color and they are so cute! Have taken them running, hiking, river tubing, and beach lounging. They've been great on all of my outings. No bunching or riding up and the pockets are awesome.

I am a devoted fan of Patagonia's Strider short, but decided to give the Strider Pro a chance. I'm very happy with them! The fit is a little baggier than what I am used to, but the pockets more than make up for that. I can stash my phone and keys without feeling like I'm going to lose anything. The colors are great as well.

These are perfect running shorts. I bought these because I have a marathon coming up and I wanted legit running shorts and these are what I was hoping for! The pockets are so great, especially if you run long distances and like to carry GU or something. They are very lightweight and they just have amazing quality. I also wore them for a workout at the gym and they are great for that as well. Just go for it.

I got these for my wife, I was debating on size, and glad I went XS. They run a touch bigger than other brand running shorts, just a touch. These look great on her, short enough to be great running shorts, but long enough to stay decent in public. Very accentuating and flattering. Highly recommend.

Light-as-air, soft, very stretchy, pockets are awesome! Only problem ... built-in panty has NO elastic. Must be designed for folks with flat backsides? I have a big ole booty! The liner crawled so badly, I got a huge blister in my a--crack!! I took a pair of scissors and chopped the liner out. I wear them with boy-shorts-style panties. Problem solved. Now they're awesome shorts. For $65, however, they ought to be awesome without having to chop them up!
