Bumpy gravel roads, light-duty singletrack, and tours across state lines call for a stout and supportive wheelset that's wide enough for running larger rubber, yet light and snappy when you're hammering up climbs and pedaling across miles of countryside. Designed for this very purpose, the Mercury G1 Carbon Disc Wheelset offers a superb balance of rolling efficiency, proven strength, and high-volume support for gravel exploration, bikepacking adventures, and long-distance tours.

Sitting at a whopping 30-millimeters across (external width), the G1 Carbon Disc Wheelset supports higher volume tires in the neighborhood of 35 to 40-millimeters across, give or take a few millimeters for your riding preferences. Tubeless-ready rims allow you to drop the pressure of wider tires, in turn lending a smooth and supple sensation across rough roads and gravel surfaces. Ultimately, this means you'll conserve energy without the fatiguing feel of jarring bumps and excess vibration you've become accustomed to with gravel road exploration.

I absolutely love these wheels. Mercury nails it with these G1’s. Amazing ride quality and very well built. Great craftsmanship. Just overall great gravel wheelset.

I bought these about 10 months ago for my gravel bike and have put over 1500 miles on these with no issues. The wheels are light and very durable. Great value.

Well, these are not compatible with SRAM Disc brakes. I called competitive cyclist and they told that it is well known. I had to use shims, got it to work, but beware.

This wheelset replaced the Ibis D30 hoops that came with my Hakka MX. These are wider and deeper making them a great match for the 40mm Maxxis Rambler's I use on gravel.

I’ve had these wheels for over a year with over 1800 miles and no issues at all. I am a bigger guy at over 210 and put a lot of pressure on wheels and have had issues in the past with wheels not holding up. These wheels are light and super smooth rolling plus they take a beaten. They look great with the grey decals. Totally worth the money.

Finally a nice set of carbon gravel wheels that fit perfectly on my Niner RLT. I’ve been on a few weekend trips with them and am looking forward to my week long trek. The wheels are light and very durable plus they take a beating. Love these.

I have had G1 wheels for 1 year now. I'm running 700x42 tires on them. Tubeless setup was easy. This combination works great. These wheels are amazingly light and tough as nails plus they look good.

I've had this wheelset for nearly two years now and have put close to 2.5k miles on them. I use this set for gravel road racing and training. I am 160 lbs. and competitive but do not beat up my hardware. So far I have had two random rear wheel spokes go ping, one cost me a move up the podium when I had to stop and tuck it in. The last one was just yesterday on a training ride. Given the fact that these are carefully crafted, hand built wheels I'm perplexed by this. After the first break I called Mercury to make sure I got identical replacement spokes, made the fix then made sure all were properly tensioned and adjusted as needed with a meter. I thought the first was a fluke but now I am wondering if there is something else going on. I'm not reading of any other spoke issues so to reiterate, I'm perplexed. If I have another break I'll be in touch with Mercury . For years I've stuck with straight pull only spokes in my wheels and have had NO issues. When I read about these I thought it sounded like a good chance to try j bend again. So far I'm not feel'n the love.

Purchased a set of these wheels initially for a 50 mile gravel race. I am 200 pounds and put a lot of pressure on wheels and have had issues in the past with wheels not holding up. These wheels are amazingly light and tough as nails. Great product totally worth the money.

I haven't put a ton of miles on these yet (maybe 120-150) but so far they seem to work well. I got these to be able to quickly swap out a gravel wheelset for a my road wheelset (which are also a carbon Mercury, which I love) I don't feel as though I have lost anything by useing these wheels with my gravel tires vs. my gravel tires on my road Mercury wheels, so that must mean something.

Very happy with this new carbon wheelset as an upgrade to my factory wheels. These G1’s are very light and extremely durable. Over a 2100 miles on them with no issues. Straight as the day I pulled them out of the box. Great job mercury.

1 year and counting. Lightweight and snappy right out of the box. I have some Hutch 42c tires mounted to them and they fit great. I've ridden through some very muddy and nasty conditions and the bearings still feel smooth. I was a little worried about the limited spokes on the rear but it has held up to my 190Ibs just fine. Highly recommend.

At least for the set I bought, their hubs were the old style (T model, not their 2018 hubs), which meant that I had to get a more expensive/older (???) version of Mercury's XD body to upgrade. This model wasn't on Competitive Cyclist, so I had no idea it existed. I bought the XD driver on here, it didn't fit, then went on to discover the other model on Mercury's site. TLDR: make sure you check the model # on the side of the hub: if it starts with a T, I'd contact Mercury to make sure you get the right XD driver. Apart from this confusion, I've used these with 42mm gravel tires and 28mm road tires and they perform flawlessly in both cases. Absolutely love these things.
