The summer of 2016 saw cyclists from all disciplines glued to the television in anticipation of a dirt-filled showdown between the world road champion and a gaggle of the world's best cross-country racers. Sagan provided the fireworks early on, but the star of the day was Switzerland's Schurter, deftly flicking and carving his way through the course to garner gold in an eye-catching kit topped with Assos' SS.equipeJersey_evo8 Men's Jersey. Since then, the equipeJersey has garnered some serious attention as an exceptionally lightweight, summer- and race-worthy jersey.

Assos has long outfitted the Swiss national team, and the equipeJersey is the natural progression for a company that has earned its reputation for being forever on the cutting edge of fabrics, fit, and high quality construction. That a road jersey can handle the abuse of a top-level XC course in uncomfortably hot and humid conditions is a testament to the Assos approach to kit, and we're excited to see it available for the rest of us with a design that has just enough flash without losing the brand's classic Swiss aesthetic.

Most companies offer some form of summer weight kit, but it's the small details that set the equipeJersey apart from the crowd. It boasts raw cut and welded hems at the sleeves and front waist for smooth, uninterrupted lines from sleeve to body. Welded seams also maintain the stretchiness of the fabric, which increases comfort and reduces pinching compared to the restricted stretch of jerseys with traditionally sewn seams.

The extra lightweight mesh across the back has two-way stretch, so it expands and contracts as you need it to side-to-side but doesn't stretch downwards when pockets are loaded with nutrition, keys, a phone, a multi-tool, and a patch kit. The pockets themselves are also made from a slightly different fabric, with reinforcement at the attachment points to improve durability and further fend off pocket sag. In the quest to look pro and stay comfortable even when packed with essentials for a long day in the saddle, the equipeJersey delivers in spades.

Super-lightweight jersey, with a trim cut, top notch materials, and subdued graphics. My go to jersey once the temps get above 70. I stocked up once they went on sale.

The fit is excellent and the material feels great in the heat. Expect a race fit, no flapping materials. Not sure I would choose this if its less than 60 degrees out, but it is my go to jersey for hot weather. I'd compare the fit to the Rapha pro team jerseys. The materials are a little different though - this one has more of a texture to it than Rapha's soft stretchy fabric. Both top notch jerseys. Hard to decide which is better.

This is a high quality jersey, but I found the fit to be very strange. The sleeves were super tight compared the rest of the fit. Returned for something else.

Items arrived quickly! Jersey was a large which normally fits. This was very tight for a large size. Have placed order for XL

I have the white version. The construction and materials are extremely high quality. The fit is typical Assos. I wear an XL, 6' 190lbs. Love it.

I have this in both the black and light blue. Great jersey, very high quality construction and materials. I have a long torso, and small shoulders/arms so it can be hard to find kits that fit correctly. The shoulders and arms are a little...and I mean very slightly large on me in a M, but that gives me enough length in the torso, and fits snug on the chest. Would highly recommend this jersey, very versatile for warm to hot weather rides.

I'm 6' and 165lbs. I love the look of the jersey, but a medium was too small for me. It is very thin material. Most of my rides are in evenings or mornings at a higher elevation in Idaho. The temps are not hot enough to wear such a thin outer layer.

Got the Voltyellow and I love the bright yellow color and the sleeve pattern. The different materials used throughout the jersey feel amazing. 4 stars because the bottom of the sleeve is too tight for my arms. It really doesn't have much give to it. I am a muscular build though. If you have cyclists biceps, this will be a 5 for you!!

Love it. I've bought 2 of these and use them heavily on my rotation. If Competitive restocked them, i'd buy a few more ! Fits great,a bit loose around the shoulders and arms but overall fantastic.

Great jersey, extremely breathable and fits to skin, the quality is very high and this is a great jersey to wear on any ride. I have a larger upper body build and although I like a tighter fit and went with M bibs, I did need to size to a L jersey for my shoulders, neck and pits to feel comfortable. The M could have worked but I felt that a long day in the saddle would prove uncomfortable. Even sizing to the Large jersey it lays well over the zipper lines and is a great fit.

I own 5 Assos summer jerseys and they just keep getting better every year. If treated well (i.e. hand washed), they also last and last for many years, so well worth the cost. I got the dark red in XL (I have a 44 chest). Comfortable, does not bind anywhere, looks fabulous. The zippered security pocket is a plus, and something that most (all?) other brands don't have. Love this jersey!

This is a great jersey..........in fact the best I've owned for Summer riding. Like someone else said here you don't even know it is on. Super light, breathable.......oh yeah, cool looking. Race tight. Love it. I wish I could find one in Black my size. Assos is just a great company. I own their gear for every condition and always the same....perfect.

As a big fan of Assos bibs I really wanted to like this jersey, but I couldn't make the size work. I am 6'2", 178 lbs. with a 40" chest, 31" waist and 34" inseam. I cycle 8 hours and swim 4 hours a week. I tried the L, XL and XLG. The XLG was comfortable but too long and baggy in the waist. The L and XL just too tight in the chest, arms and shoulders. I would have likely kept the XLG but I was displeased with the zipper. It seemed fragile and looked prone to fail in a year or so. More importantly, the zipper flap covering the bottom of the zipper made the jersey difficult to unzip with 1 hand and impossible to perform a no-look zip at the top of a hill before a descent. For $180, a jersey needs to get everything right. -DN

I haven't always been a fan of Assos jerseys, but the new sleeve pattern has won me over. Which is good for me, because the material, cut, and finishing details of this jersey are amazing.

41" Chest / 12" Bicep / 36" Waist Based upon other reviews on the web, I elected to go with an XL instead of an L. The jersey is still form fitting though I think if I were much smaller in the chest measurement it would start to have a bit of excess material. I have ridden in this jersey for probably 20+ hours this fall in temperatures from 70 to 90. It is surprising comfortable across that range with the hotter temperatures more of its sweet spot. The other thing that I have noted is that that when I am down low in the drops, I don't feel any restriction from the jersey. For me, it just disappears. Though I like both jerseys, I would also put this jersey a slight bit higher in ranking than the Castelli Climber's jersey in this regard.

FINALLY, an XS jersey thats too small for me! I'm pretty tiny, but I should be a S, which is exactly my size in this jersey. So yes, I did have to return it, but I had a chance to try it on and feel the supple materials used in this jersey. Absolutely top notch stuff. It's cut for an aggressive riding position, so it definitely feels odd when standing straight up. Lean over with a hunched back and you'll feel every panel fall in to place exactly where you want them to. One thing to note though is that I found the pockets to be a little high up and small.

Damn, I love this jersey. Yes, you should add this to the rotation. I only wish they had a few more colors for me to buy. Good thing I like black and white. I would say this is the best jersey at this price point in terms of material, construction, and style. A few of the highlights are the welded sleeves, 3D material, and the fit. The fit on this is similar to the new Cento or the older Mangussta. Please reach out to me if you have any questions on this or any other Assos piece. I don't know it's so lite and airy I can't tell. Super cool looking, fit like a glove(5'9 155lbs medium) great quality. Only neg rep in my mind is there is not rear zipping pocket. :( bummer.
