The sizing of these are really strange. I ordered a large because I normally have to with me being tall. I normally range from 28-29in waist and 38-41 hips, but there was no hip size guide on the size chart. In the guide, a small is 25-28in waist and a large is 28-30 - so there is apparently not that much difference. I got this in and they felt nice on but it was AT least 6 inches too big. I normally wear a 6-8 and anywhere from a 26-28 in jeans. The length of the Large seemed to be perfect for my height. I'm going to order another size just to see but I could be weary about sizing up if you aren't sure!

I have owned these pants in size M, merlot color, for a while and did a fair amount of skiing in them. I always liked the amount of insulation that made these the warmest pair I had. They were also very soft and comfortable. I recently lost some weight and the medium size became really huge and unwearable, so I was happy to find exactly these pants on sale at Backcountry. I was not sure whether to order size S or XS, so I ordered both - one in navy, one in sand brown - with the idea that I can simply return the pair that does not fit. I have a 27-inch waist and about 36-inch hips. When I received them, I found out, that the S size has a slightly loose fit on me, while the XS has a slightly tighter fit. But both worked quite well, one giving me a more relaxed look (maybe used with a belt) and the other a more flattering form-fitting look. So I decided to keep them both to match different jackets. Definitely recommend to women who tend to get cold on chairlifts!

I wanted to love these pants! They were warm and soft inside, but unfortunately they didn’t quite fit me right. They fit me great in the legs and butt, but were super loose around my waist. Any bending or crouching would have definitely shown some crack. These may fit someone better with a more “straight” figure perhaps. I ended up returning.

Bought these pants for my daughter. Seemed like they would be great boarding pants but they were huge in the waste and tight through the legs. She is average size so this was a bit of a surprise to have them not fit. Based on what I have read and this experience I do not believe they run true to size at all. Disappointing for sure.

I am a small based on the size chart and reviews, and I couldn't even pull the pants over my hips.

I wear a 25 in jeans. The pants are baggy and are not tight at the waist, which I like. I’m 5’4 120lbs and would definitely buy another pair. I’d like them to be more form fitting, but that is the design of the pants. I used them skiing in Tahoe and Breck.

Based on some reviews I had read, I ordered a medium. I’m a size 27 and these are way too big for my waist and when I called back to get the small they were sold out. These pants seem AMAZING! Get them, don’t size up.

I gave these pants as a gift for my sister and this is what she said about them: “they are slim and fit super well without being super baggy. They are well insulated and didn’t even feel the cold at the top of the mountain while skiing. I love the way they look and was warm and dry the whole time I was wearing them!”

I bought these as part of an outfit for my sister. She loves it. I bought her the blue pants. She says they are warm.

These are very warm, the color is vibrant, they seem well made, and the gaiters stayed put on my boots. My only issue with this pant is the waist. I ordered a size small and the waist is quite big. Nothing a belt can't fix but the waist is big enough that if I forget my belt, I'm constantly yanking them up. They have just enough room for a base layer for a little added warmth when needed, without restrictions movement.
