Despite its name, The North Face's Jester 29L Backpack is no joke. This functional backpack is designed to last you through college graduation and then follow you on the trails. With a padded and fleece lined laptop sleeve, your laptop stays protected from heavy text books while the internal organizer includes a tablet sleeve, pen holders, and additional small pockets for A+ organization. And during finals week, the FlexVent suspension support gives you a comfortable fit for heavy loads with its mesh padding and spine channel. When it's time to hit the trail, load up plenty of water in the dual water bottle holders and stash your rain jacket to the outside of your pack with the external bungee storage.

This is perfect for the day hikes. Light and practical

I bought this backpack to use at university. I didn’t realize how small this backpack is. There’s one main compartment and another small one that extends to maybe halfway the length of the backpack. This was poorly designed because if you put anything into the small compartment, it bulges into the main compartment, so you can’t fit anything into the main section. I can carry a laptop and a couple folders and that’s about it. The backpack is unbelievably stiff even after wearing it for a week and there’s almost no padding on the strap sections, so it actually became painful to wear after a short time. I can’t imagine people using this backpack for hiking or wearing it for an extended period of time. I’m really disappointed with the design and functionality of this backpack.

Got this for my son for school. He loves it, plenty of space for him, and seems to hold up well.

The best part of this bag is that it's not overly complicated. The laptop pocket is great and there's plenty of organization without going overboard. The materials seem to be durable and the bag is comfortable enough to use as a daily driver.
