If you're looking for the lightest, most compact wind protection around, the Men's Hot Pack Ultralight Vest from Sportful is it. It packs so small that Sportful claims it only takes up one-third of a jersey pocket. But despite the incredible packability, this vest is still fully windproof, highly water-resistant, and ready to be deployed at a moment's notice.

Sportful builds the Hot Pack Ultralight out of an astoundingly light fabric. In fact, it feels incredibly delicate in your hands, despite the fact that it's fully windproof. However, it's plenty durable for the intended task meaning that it's not exactly bombproof, but it's robust enough for regular use. With packability being paramount, it's not surprising that the small back pocket doubles as a stuff-sack. Sportful minimizes the seams at the front of the vest, reducing the number of points of entry for water, should you decide to test the limits of its waterproofness.

A drop tail keeps your backside covered in the event that road spray starts kicking up. Mesh panels at the underarms help to vent excess heat when you're working hard. The elastic arm openings help to minimize the gap between jersey and vest, which minimizes flapping and maximizes protection. And reflective accents make you more visible to drivers, so you stay safer on the roads, especially if dusk sneaks up on you.

The Sportful Hot Pack Ultralight Men's Vest is available in seven sizes, from X-Small to 3X-Large, and in the colors Black and White.

I'm 5'9", 135lbs and a size small fits great although it is a bit snug around the bottom if you have a lot of gear in your jersey pockets. The zipper is a bit finnicky and if you miss the engagement you'll have to stop and put your feet down to sort it, but other than that I have been happy with this vest. Wind-flappage is fairly minimal with the right size, but the material is lightweight enough to quickly stuff into a pocket without a fight. Blocks wind very well.
