Wanted a lighter base layer bottom and I found it with this. It is easy on the skin and stays in place. Through the wash and dry cycle they keep their shape. Much, much better than cotton.

Was looking for something a little lighter for warmer days or longer spring days in the backcountry and these are exactly what I was looking for. Haven't been cold or too hot. The merino makes them wicking, fast drying and breathable while the nylon makes them stretchy and comfortable!

These bottoms are my first Smart Wool layering purchase. I have only non wool to compare them to. I've used them for casual, everyday layering and on a couple of low impact hikes, both during cold temps, between 10-20 degrees. They've kept me suitably warm and comfortable during any of my uses so far. I don't like the waist band. It rolls down and folds down. Could be how I fit in them. I'm at the top of the fit range for medium size. In closing, I would say I really like the material but the folding waistband might lead me to consider alternatives the next time around.

Smart Wool is one of my favorite brands for base layers. These pants are perfect for touring on cold days or going up to the ski hill. They fit well under snow pants and they help me stay warm. These are the 2nd pair i have owned. I've had my other pair for over 8 years and the seams have started to give.

these are much worse than the previous version 150 microweight base layer. The biggest issue is the remarkably uncomfortable waistband is very stiff and thick. The previous version was thin and comfortable and flexible and fantastic. I don't know why they changed them. Blending with nylon is something I could deal with but the stiff elastic around the waist is awful.
