Designed for stalking bonefish and tarpon in saltwater flats, the Simms Flats Sneaker is designed to give you traction and comfort throughout long days on your feet. The gum rubber outsole provides excellent grip in the water and on wet boat decks, while a removable Right Angle footbed supports and cushions your foot to reduce fatigue. The synthetic upper sheds water quickly when you find the shore, and a non-absorbent foam lining cushions your foot underneath, preventing pressure points. The Flats is made entirely from saltwater-friendly materials, but will serve you well when you travel to freshwater spots as well.

So 3 years ago I went and hit the "Miracle Mile" in California. I came back with an epic case of Plantar Fascitis that I am still battling to this day. It's totally damaged my fishing. I can't do squat or so I thought, Thank you Simms for making something that brings me back to the water again to fish, without punishing pain that makes me so sad. The Right angle orthotic is where its at. I fish the surf with this! I like my boot fit snug. I wear with the neoprene wading sock and the gravel guards, Simms FTW.

Bought these specifically for the Bahamas, but I've been wearing them for freshwater on days when wading boots with studs would be overkill. I pair them with the Simms wet wading socks, I think that's a better combo than neoprene.

If you are spending long days walking on the reefs your feet will thank you. Might be a bit overkill for sandy flats.

I love these boots. Very light and comfortable to walk a long way in. I use mine with the Simms neoprene socks and fold the sock over the laces to keep any extra sand/rock out and to keep the laces from getting snagged. I previously had a pair of the vapor salts and i think these are a way better boot for a much better price.

I bought these as a gift for my Fiance and this is what he said, "I wouldn’t set foot on the flats without a pair. They are comfortable, and as the name implies, they are functional like a sneaker for long days tracking down GTs in the heat. However, as with anything that spends time exposed to salt water, these sneakers can be eroded without care. But, step out on the flats of Christmas Island et al, and I would imagine you’d be hard pressed to find an angler without a pair. "

Bought a pair for my husband and father-in-law for a trip to the Bahamas and they held up well and didn't have any problems. Go up a size if you plan on wearing them with neoprene socks.

Bought these flats boots to replace an older pair of neoprene boots. Have had an opportunity to wade in the BVI and throughout the Bahamas. These boots have held up incredibly well!
