For me the Cape checks all the right boxes for both road and trail. I use Shimano Road SPD pedals on my Trek Madone, and various SPD pedals on mtn bikes. For about half the price of the top shoes Sidi makes (at current discount prices) you get a very stiff sole, very good trail hike a bike (not all Sidi's have a good hike bottom IMO), quick adjusting ratchet and boa system, and reasonably comfortable. What you give up from say the Genius/Dominator level is the softness of the material, those shoes are Italian slippers. What you gain is a stronger shoe that I feel the difference in, yet remains sufficiently comfy for my lumpy feet. What you give up in models above the Cape is typically weight. The non carbon sole while quite stiff and strong is thicker/heavier than carbon. So for me a very nice set of compromises that works well

These are my third Sidi mtb shoes. I love them, but jury was out on day one because the material is very rigid and high tongue. After a few rides they have broken in well. Power transfer is awesome, great gravel grinder shoes too! I do wish there was more ventilation, but seems mtb shoes manufactures think differently these days, perhaps to keep water out?

These have a nice stiff sole for CX, gravel, and XC: not too stiff to walk/run in but still plenty stiff. They are a hard-wearing shoe and will last a good long time. The combination of a BOA dial and the traditional SIDI ratchet buckle works well and reliably. For me, the toe box is a bit too narrow. I do not have wide feet but even so, my smaller toes brush up against the side of the foot compartment. I could remedy this by going larger but that creates other problems. Also, I have to really cinch the shoes down pretty tight to make sure that my heels don't lift out of the shoe, so a better, more gripping heel cup would be welcome there. All in all, I respect these shoes but the fit isn't ideal for my particular feet.

They are great; fitting could be tricky as this specific model has a lot of room but wit then thecno 3 you really can adjust to fit close to your feet (nothing serious or critical). Extremely happy with them specially due the comfort.

I've used these shoes for the past year for 'cross. Very solid shoe, seems to run just a bit big. Sole is great for Cx barriers and run ups. The buckles are oddly fragile though. They are located on the outside of the shoe (as expected), but are perfectly in the wrong place for cx crashes. Both of mine have broken, so i just ordered a replacement set. The good news is they are easy to replace.

I rode with Northwave. I rode with Mavic, and I rode with the Sidi Drako, all carbon soles, high-end, and pricey, stiff, race cleats, used for CX. Problem is, the carbon was just too stiff for cyclocross. They were great for power transfer yes, and not 'horrible' when running (never had heel lift probs really, except in the Mavic's just a bit-lower volume shoes IMO) but getting back into the pedals when your in the red zone and flexing that stiff stiff stiff carbon sole filled with mud and grass and sweat and blood and sand was killing me....I spent all last season fighting with that, and then tried a slightly softer sole, something with a bit of flex to it: nylon rather than carbon. Bingo. Thought it would be a step down, but these are BRILLIANT!!! Not too stiff, not too soft...but just right. Plenty of cleat space (I use Crank Bros.) for grass and mud clearance, and add a pair of Sidi toe cleats (the Sidi stock steel spikes are big suckers..) and they grip just about anything. The Lorica finish wipes clean and sheds water and mud wonderfully leaving these looking brand new ride after ride after ride. I was skeptical of just one Sidi wire fastener, but didn't want velcro (water and mud and sand and flex ate my velcro at Cross Vegas) and this seems to be again...just right. Only interesting (bad?) thing, they run a bit larger than other Sidi's I've worn (road) over the past couple decades, but maybe only a 1/2-1 size? But they are a dream to run in. Well done Sidi. Perfect Cross shoe. Just enough bling, just enough stiffness, and not a bad price.

I purchased these shoes primarily because of the orange color. I know not the best reason. Also because the price for a top brand was good.

All in all I'm happy with these Sidi Cape shoes. They fit a bit small, but hold my fit well and transfer power well. The one (big) frustration is the rachet strap. It's a slog to undo, and I've gotten it jammed before.

this is my second sidi, i have almost the same shoe, one ROAD and one MTB sole, both are identical except the sole. they fit well, comfortable and easy to adjust on the go, easy to wear and take off too... will buy again

I picked up a pair of Sidi Wire Push shoes for the road about 3 weeks prior. I hadn't worn Sidi's since the late 90's. The wires fit like a glove right out of the box. At first, I didn't see the need for the push feature. This feature showed it's usefulness after putting some time in the Capes. Since I need glasses but don't wear them when I ride, adjusting on the fly is difficult. Finding the adjuster is tough with poor vision, haha! Wear your glasses. These are slightly larger than my Wires but doable. Would probably try a 1/2 size smaller next time. Super stiff!

Really like these shoes- It is cool now in Michigan so I am not sure if they would be the coolest shoe in hot weather. They don't appear to be too ventilated. They have good wind protection for Oct/Nov riding in Michigan. Fit great and the tightening system works really well

I picked these up as a pair of backup shoes to my Sidi Spiders, plus because they come in a sweet neon yellow color. Fits just like most other Sidis, and I'd be lying if i told you i could tell the difference between the carbon composite soles on the Spiders and the Nylon sole on these. The only thing i wish they had is replaceable heel pads. That being said, the treads on this shoe seem pretty durable and have been holding up well.

I have a pair of Sidi Kaos for road riding and the Cape is on the same "frame" so I thought the fit would be the same. Essentially it is. The difference is that the toe box is a little larger (I think) and the sole is a little more forgiving or flexible (not much). When I bought the Kaos I ordered a 44 and a 45 and returned the 44 (either one will generally work well). So when I bought the 45 and they fit well........not the same, but nice for the kind of riding they are designed for.

I decided to try CX this year and had to gear up. I ride Sidi Ergo 2 Carbons on the road and love them. Sidi was the natural choice for CX. I decided on these because they weren't mesh (warmth, better moisture retention, cleaning) and the color was just homely. I sized a 41 because of my road shoes. I was surprised to find them less snug than my size 41 Ergo's. They fit fine, but I "swim" a little in them. I may put my orthotics in them and see if I can fill the volume. Other than that, they're great. Sidi quality, absolutely. Comfortable, yes. Running was a concern for me, but they're fine. I would highly recommend these shoes. Just be mindful of the sizing if you're using road shoes as a reference point.
