Climbing or descending, your cruise across the trail should be smooth and comfortable. Wear the Salomon Men’s XA Elevate Trail Running Shoe for a secure ride over stumps, rocks, and through varied trail conditions. The Contagrip outsole is specifically designed to provide traction over trail conditions ranging from dusty to swampy, and the Elevate has 5mm lugs for improved grip in mud. As your foot contacts the ground, the dual-density EVA midsole absorbs the shock and helps it dissipate through the shoe instead of through your joints. The 8mm drop encourages a smooth transition from a midfoot strike to the toe-off for the next stride, while a rock plate underfoot provides protection from obstacles without weighing you down.

This is my 3rd pair of Salomon's. All have been excellent and lasted longer than I ever expected as I am fairly hard on my shoes. One note I must make is that this pair is about a half inch longer than all of the other size 11 I have bought from them. This is the first pair of Elevates I have gotten so it could just be this particular line.

I wore these during a hike with Salomon and Backcountry at Brighton resort in Utah. The Uintas are full of very rocky trails and rock plate shoes are a must. I typically have been running lately in the Salomon S-lab shoes and I think the XA Elevate is the option I'll go for in the future. They have great tread and grip on the down hill and great structure over the rocky portions and uphill. I'll probably be looking for a pair to run the rockier trails where the S-lab just doesn't quite hold up. Loved them.

These are my go to shoes for more technical rocky terrain here in Utah. They provide great protection on both the sole and toe cap against rocks and other obstacles you might run into on the trail. The upper hugs the foot nicely to minimize any unwanted movement and the Quicklace system that sets Salomon apart keeps keeps you secure and comfortable. They breath very well for a shoe with this kind of rock protection and also come in a Gore-Tex version for waterproof protection.

Gifted these for 56 year old Father-in-law-to-be. He has frequent joint pains. He loves them.. Says they are comfy while walking. He can take more walking than usual in these shoes. Happy him happy me

These shoes are super versatile and light for any sort of trail you'll be on. The trend is enough to go on trails less traveled and the midsole is thick enough to be comfortable on more traveled trails. Use these from any where from trail running to hiking peaks.

Not too hot and tread pattern is perfect for running in desert areas of Southern Utah. Works great for hikes in Colorado too! A lot like the Fellraiser.

Checked all the boxes. They have the right amount of foot cushion, toe and soul protection without sacrificing a feel for the trail. The weight is reasonable and has good flexibility for a trail shoe. The stability when cornering is great. They breath well on the top while the bottoms keep out the muck and prevent rocks from lodging in the tread. I'm new to the Quicklace system and I'm embarrassed to admit that I had to Google the instructions. I'm impressed at how quick it is to adjust exactly the right amount of pressure. Just be careful to not tighten the laces onto the lace garage or you wont be able to tuck them away.

I work for Salomon, and truly love these shoes. I first tried these shoes on a long, rocky, run in the Wasatch (with lots of scrambling), and didn't feel a single poke of a rock. Checkout the video for more details!
