Sure, the newly designed Rise Series Fly Reel from Redington is going to turn a few heads from your fellow anglers with its sleek machined construction and modern aesthetic, but where it really is going to turn some heads is with its fish-stopping carbon-fiber disc drag and ultra-large arbor design that will give you upper hand over combative trout and hard-to-land salmonids. Available in a wide range of sizes to suit just about any fishing scenario, Redington gave this reel a smooth and compact carbon-fiber drag system, a soft-touch ergonomic handle, and an oversized drag knob so you can quickly dial up the torque on those hard-fighting fish. The reel can be easily converted to either a left- or right-handed retrieve, and its U-channel arbor accommodates plenty of backing when you need it.

Got this as a gift for my boyfriend, here's what he has to say "This is my second Redington Rise reel and I like it even more than my first! Some great upgrades in the last few years. Solid drag, smooth reeling, and looks great too. My 5 wt reel has withstood the test of time, and I’m sure this one will too."

I got the 3/4 reel. This tiny reel can handle a big fish no problem. I paired it with a 3 wt Redington Classic Trout 6 PIECE rod and a 4wt line (the intouch rio grande) and it balanced it quite well. the best part is the whole setup pretty much weighs nothing. And I am absolutely in love with this compact easy to carry setup I can take it everywhere with me without any hassle. Just caught my first fish on it last weekend a nice bow. It handled perfectly.

When I purchased this reel the color was off from the description and the picture of the reel itself, also the drag is a little iffy , does not always engage but all in all not a great real , it is right up there with a department store special reel on sale !

Well-made, reel with a large arbor that picks up line quickly and a silky smooth drag system. Very lightweight. My go to reel for all types of trout fishing, and you really can't beat a lifetime warranty!

I purchased this as a graduation gift for my stepbrother and, having used lots of Redington Reels, this one fits right in towards the top of their line. Great price, great product. Also, the Amber Color was perfect for his graduation from University of Texas!

I have a 7/8 reel with 2 extra spools that I switch between my 6,7, and 8 wt rods. This thing has taken a beatin' and keeps on tickin'. My best guesstimate is that I have about 100 days on it. I have dropped it a few times and it has held up great. With basic cleaning and maintenance this reel will last for years...

I am just getting into fly fishing. With that being said, I have not been at it too long, but from my experience I started with a Pflueger Medalist and upgraded to this. Let me start by saying it feels much better than my medalist. Two different reels but I much prefer the Redington Rise. The first thing that caught my attention was the glacial blue. At the time I ordered it was out of stock. What I ended up with was the black instead. It is not the type of finish as advertised but it is a great color still. The second thing I was captivated by was how smooth it operates. Followed by the adjustable drag. It took a bit to break it free but it is easily adjustable. The weight and balance was exceptional and it reels so much faster. If I could buy it again I would. I highly recommend this reel for anyone looking for a great back up if you have something nicer but for me this one is perfect. Looking forward to getting more when I can spare the money. Lastly I know this is a product review but I cannot leave a post without stating how truly amazing the customer support is at Backcountry. They have restored my faith in humanity and the fact that there are people out there who still care about sharing their passion and pride in what they do all while achieving and ensuring customer satisfaction . Shout out to Emory Millis for helping me get the right product! Thanks backcountry! I look forward to doing more business with you soon!

Great reel for a great price. The drag on this reel is pretty good but lets be real... we're fishing trout with this in a 5wt. Not messing with it too much. It would do the job but for me it's pretty much a stylish line holder

I bought this as a birthday gift and have feedback to share. "Phenomenal drag system, works great with my 5 weight rod. Super smooth retrieve and well balanced. Highly recommend this based on it performance and price point compared to top of the line reels."

I bought this reel to go on my Redington Vapen rod. After using it for a few weeks, I ended up buying another reel w/ two additional spools. Quality reel for a great price. Super smooth drag and great quality overall. You won't be disappointed (especially if you get the Glacial color).

Paired it with a Redington Voyant in a 9'5wt. Really smooth reeling, easy to adjust the drag, and very finely machined-- it even has a really nice bluish color I dig a lot. It’s a simple reel, but it does exactly what I need it to. Inexpensive and gets the job done. What more could you ask for?
