Climbers can be pretty picky about what rock they want to ascend. Some prefer long granite pitches high in the alpine, while others dig limestone or sandstone climbs closer to the ground. There are even some who don't prefer rock at all―ie. plastic pullers. Whatever your preference, Petzl's Sm'D Locking Carabiner will serve you in good stead. Its unique I profile keeps things light on long alpine approaches, and it still ensures long-lasting durability for belaying at gyms and crags. The Sm'D also features a unique, discrete hole at the bottom of the gate that secures Petzl's Tibloc or Micro Traxion so you don't lose them mid-climb.

I've had a the twist lock on my personal anchor for a couple years, the simple dual action is great for a locker that's always in sight. I bought a second one for my tibloc, which is great for the same reason. The keeper cord hole is great, just barely fits a 2mm utility cord, and means I don't have to worry about dropping the tibloc.

I over analyze everything. I buy one of each type of carabiner that is highly rated and test them all. Both my wife and I love these. We find ourselves always reaching for these first. They're light with excellent twist action that (so far) never fails. Also, the gate hinge starts slightly higher up than many other biners, meaning it leaves room for the rope or a third hand in there without having to fight to open the gate all the way. We're replacing all our heavier screwgates with these and the am'D's.

A good locker that is light and durable. Nothing to fancy about it but it's a good workhorse that you'll get lots of use out of.

While you should always check your carabiner to make sure it is locked, its nice to know that you really dont have to worry about it with this item. This was my first time using and auto-lock and it did take a little getting used to for my hands to work the release, but getting used to it I imagine it will be my new favorite biner.

It's a lightweight locking carabiner, works great, and is bomber when building an anchor.

No complaints so far! I normally don't like this kind of locking carabiner but this one is very smooth and easy to use.

I'm not usually a fan of twistlock carabiners, but I picked this up to use with my Petzl Connect Adjust, and I love it! It's super easy to open, and I never have to worry about forgetting to screw it shut. I dig the orange color too!

I often ask a lot of my D shaped locking biners. I have about 6 of them on my rack/harness at all times for all sorts of acts. This biner has risen in the ranks as my favorite. Super smooth action on the screwgate, red indicator - great for PAS connection and letting you know when you AREN'T locked. And they have a great light feel to them. Lighter than the BD Nitron Screwgate and a whole lot more carabiner. Very versatile and easy to clip/unclip with the key gate. New Favor Locker!
