I love how easy it is to clip this into your belay loop. With it all being one piece is very simple to take it on and off. I have climbed a lot in the past with just a regular carabiner, but oftentimes it would twist when I was belaying and wasn't always in the right position. With using this Black Diamond Gridlock I don't have to worry about it tristing while I am using it so I can put all my focus on the climber and not my gear. I would totally buy again.

I had the issue of carabiner turning side ways whenever I belayed. So I got this carabiner and it took care of that problem. I have no other concerns regarding a carabiner.

Does what a carabiner should. I like that it won't get twisted around while belaying and the screwgate action is smooth.

We've all had that experience when you're buddy takes a whip and you look down only to discover that your carabiner is no longer aligned across it's major access, but instead is pinned horizontally. Cross-loading is a major issue because, as you probably noticed, carabiners are about a third as strong across the minor access as they are across the minor access. The GridLock carabiner eliminates the chance of cross-loading by having a divider between your belay loop and your belay device. Aside from preventing cross-loading the shape of the carabiner almost locks into your harness, reducing wiggle room, which makes belaying feel more natural. This carabiner works great with grigis and ATCs alike, and I'm sure would work well with a PAS. Bottom line, get yourself one of these to increase your belaying confidence.

I bought this for using grigris and it excels at that. Really eliminates the possibility of cross loading while belaying. It would be very nice for a PAS as well but leave it in the gear bag for anything else
