A hike to the top of a peak in thigh-deep powder is almost as pleasant as bombing down it with the Patagonia Women's Powder Bowl Pant on. Its Gore-Tex 2-layer membrane keeps you dry through it all, and it's surprisingly breathable so you don't stifle with heat exhaustion when you're bootpacking to a secret powder stash. The thigh venting and mesh lining work together to keep sweat at bay, and a regular fit gives plenty of room for insulating layers on freezing days.

The Powder Bowl features ankle gaiters to seal snow out, while reinforced scuff guards ensure you keep this amazing pair of pants for multiple seasons. A gusseted crotch helps you hike up the peak, and articulated knees allow you to drop down deep when you bomb downhill.

I've only worn these once, in sunny spring conditions, so I can't offer a lot of weather-proofing feedback, but I have no doubt that Patagonia does a stellar job of protecting your legs when you're in the deep or wet snow. I usually wear a size 4 pant, or size small, and I found these just a tad too bulky for my taste. Were I to purchase, I would size down. Also, I know I shouldn't detract a star for this, but the only colors available were black and a khaki brown. Neither are colors I would decide to spend a large chunk of money on. But over all, this is a great pant for skiing or riding. It's got a breathable mesh lining and the perfect side vents for touring.

Borrowed these to try out for a day on the mountain. It was a sunny powder day so the Gore-Tex wasn't much needed. The fit was great in the waist but the legs do fit a little on the baggy side. Not a fitted pant, which is what I was looking for.

After wearing bibs exclusively for a few weeks and trying these out, they seemed a bit baggy in contrast. I didn't dislike the look they provide but I think I prefer a tighter fit and bibs overall. For the price and the brand and everything considered though, these pants are a great purchase!

Great product, but like other reviews, I found that these pants run big. Order your true size if you plan to do heavy layers underneath, or even consider going a size down.

I am the sort of person who gets cold very easily, so I was hesitant in buying a pair of shell pants. I ski a lot and in all weather on both the east and west coasts. However, I absolutely LOVE these pants. I have skied them in all conditions, from full-on rain, to extreme cold, to sunny spring Colorado days. I will agree with another reviewer than they are on the larger side, and I do wish I had known that there is a short version when I bought them. I am 5'2

I love these pants! I’ve been wearing them for 4 years now. At 5’8 145, the Medium size fit perfect. I gained a little weight and they were too tight at 155. Anyone taller than 5’8 will want to buy the long sizes. I have 2 pairs and have worn them in 0 degree weather and 50 degree weather with comfort. They’ve kept me dry in mild wet conditions. I board in Colorado where there isn’t much for extreme conditions at the resorts.

As always, Patagonia produces a reliable and quality product for us to enjoy our outdoor playtime. These pants have a good variety of sizes for a reason - to fit the shapes and heights of different bodies! I wear a small in almost everything, and I did not realize just how baggy and roomy these were going to be on me, despite the measurements and size suggestions. They are comfortable and warm, and do a fantastic job at protecting against wet conditions. I was bummed I had to return them, and would suggest sizing down.

Although these are one of the cheaper Patagonia snow pants, they really do the job. They can get pretty wet, but nothing too bad. I have them in the buffalo green which shows the dirt a lot more than expected. Overall, great pant.
