The temperatures have dropped, but that doesn't stop you from getting after it. You're beginning your winter adventure by layering up, starting with the Patagonia Capilene Air Crew Top. The durable, airy wool blend pulls moisture off your skin keeping you dry and warm under the rest of your layers. Even if you're really working hard and producing a lot of sweat, you won't have to worry about applying multiple layers of deodorant as wool naturally repels odors. But peace of mind isn't the only comfort this baselayer provides.

The seamless 3D Construction eliminates all chafe points through the entire top so you can move all day long in bliss and comfort. This construction also produces almost no wasted material. So in addition to being environmentally conscious, you don't have to worry about fabric catching on your other layers while you're out and about. The no catching aspect is a big deal with this garment. The fabric is stretchy, soft, and moves wherever you do. Additionally, the soft elastic knit cuffs keep the sleeves from bunching up when you throw on your next layer.

I run in this down to below freezing during the day with no extra layers and feel pretty good and don't sweat too much running at about 40 degrees F or so. I ordered the men's sizes (I have a S, which is more my size, and M because I like the extra room). The women's sizes were way too form fitting for me. I would say size up regardless of gender.

I got this planning to run in it. Instead I wear this for work, lounging, and all forms of leisure activity. I have no doubt I COULD run in it. But I like this so much I just can't do it. My only quibble is that it runs a little long. I'd love more versions of this - a hoody would be great. But the absolute best material - feels like you are wearing nothing, yet is somehow both warm and airy. It's my favorite thing for casual days at work.

I bought four of these last year, and I’ve worn them ever cool/cold day since. They are surprisingly warm. I wear them hiking, walking the dog, and as a light sweater at work. Could be my best clothing purchase ever.

So I bought this because I thought it would be a good baselayer for my next run up to Mir. I’m not sure how cold it gets where most of you guys are chillin’ (haha get it? “Chillin”) but when I’m working on Mir it’s about -240 degrees F. The suit does a good job at keeping my blood from boiling and I have a heater but you definitely gotta layer up and this shirt was a little too thin for working in open space. Would recommend this for like...I dunno...April in Colorado...but if you gotta go repair a solar array on the international space station for 9 hours wear something thicker. Cool color though.

I have worn these in many different conditions and absolutely love the baselayers. The not only keep me warm, but dry as well when i'm touring and start to sweat a little.

This shirt makes an incredible baselayer. It delivers on everything it promises...warm but breathes extremely well. I've worn it shoveling snow several times already and it keeps me warm when starting but never feels wet and heavy once I've been at it for a while. I'll be ordering another one.

I have tried out several types of thermals in the past, but the Patagonia Capilene Air's are AMAZING! I tend to be more warm blooded, so while thermals keep me warm, as I start to increase my activity, I often quickly overheat. Not with these! I am VERY glad I purchased them and am excited for our Peru treks coming up this July, now I feel truly ready!

I have never been much of a merino wool guy but I am liking this blend shirt a lot- like couldn’t take it off for several days after I got it and as an aside my gear head has been great too! I just ordered two more shirts in different colors today.
