Solidly built, feature-rich, and fits in some of the smallest overhead bins. Bought it in red so it’s easy to pick out on the luggage carousel or plane-side. I haven’t had occasion to use the built in straps very often but they did come in super useful on our last family vacation. We have a big clan and our last week long trip required plenty of gear. I threw this bag on my back and rolled two bags behind me with the fam in tow! I also love that the bag has straps to cinch and compress if it’s not packed totally full.

I am a frequent traveler for work and leisure. This bag rolls through an airport at least a half dozen times a month. I love the fact that this bag is "expandable." The stiff but not solid sides let this bag operate a bit like a duffle bag when trying to squeeze it into an overhead bin. I have had no trouble carry this onto any flights in the 3 months I've owned it. I haven't used the backpack straps yet but I'm sure they will come in handy at some point in my travels. Lots of extra compartments if you like to keep things organized. The straps inside the bag are great for keeping things secured in place if you have to open the bag to remove toiletries, snacks, or electronics at security.

The wheeled convertible luggage segment is a small one. In my research I think I found all of five or six pieces of carry-on size, wheeled luggage with backpack straps, three of which are made by Osprey. Eagle Creek makes one and eBags makes another. Neither of those are particularly inspiring. What made me choose the Sojourn over the Ozone and the Meridian was two things. Firstly, I didn't want to be locked in with a particular daypack. The integrated daypacks on the Meridian and Ozone are temping, but I use different daypacks for different destinations. With the Sojourn, the plethora of daisy chains, D-rings, and external compression straps make attaching any bag I want- whether it's my Marmot Sidecountry ski pack or a leather city-type backpack -super easy. Secondly, the backpack suspension system on the Sojourn is legit. I've lugged a convertible duffel (the Patagonia Black Hole) around Italy, and let me tell you, it sucks. Great duffel, terrible backpack. The backpack system on the Sojourn has adjustable torso length, robust straps, chest strap, and a real, honest hip belt. In putting it on, it feels like a backpacking pack (albeit a heavy one)- something I could carry for several miles without complaining. Not just a roller bag with cringe-worthy backpack straps. Otherwise, this bag is reminiscent of the Osprey Meridian. It has confidence-inspiring construction, big burly wheels, and is made of robust materials. Love the bright green interior, mesh zippered interior pockets, and easy-to-grab exterior handles. Will be getting one for my husband.

Excellent piece of luggage. Very solid and well made. I especially love the duality of being able to roll or backpack it. Yes it's on the heavy side - and removing the harness system doesn't really lighten it up much - but given the solid frame, sealed bearing wheels and the dense ballistic material it's made of, this piece should last a very long time. I packed this bag to almost over-flowing, and with some coaxing got it to fit in the overhead bin on a recent flight to Florida. Also very pleased with the 4 D-rings sewn into it which permit attaching my daypack to it. Heading to Europe next year and plan to purchase the 80L model for that trip as I know I'll need more space and will be packing it on as I roam about the Scottish countryside. Highly recommend.

The bag has good functionality, and is indeed carryon size (when not to full). Only real negative is weight, its a bit heavy.
