With its dense, thick form, ahead-of-the pack comfort and cushioning, and non-slip finish, the Manduka Pro Yoga Mat is like a luxury sedan driving 100mph on the highway. Smooth, baby, smooth. However, you are moving nowhere except deeper into your practice. The closed-cell surface helps to keep moisture and sweat out, so your mat isn't a breeding ground for bacteria. And the dot-pattern bottom resists sliding to round out the luxurious features of this perfect rectangle. Manduka is yogi-focused and designed by yogis to ensure all of their products are loved and functional. The brand has a deep focus for sustainability and are known for their LiveOn program, where they recycle used mats.

From the moment you use this mat for the first time you really feel like a pro. I had another one and you can tell why Manduka Pro goes the whole way. I have knee problems and the thicker pad is outstanding for them and to cope with the weight in the wrists. I was expecting more of a red color but I love the dark red I purchase. I will be buying more Manduka products next time. Thanks Backcountry!

I bought this mat for my wifre. I have owned one for 8 years or so and I love it so much I bought her one. I think that these are lifetime yoga mats. mine is still in great shape and I have many more years of practice on it.

I had picked up a regular sized mat and was not expecting it to be that heavy even though the weight is stated. I did also include a 'Go Move Mat Carrier' from Manduka in my purchase and it definitely is a must if you plan on taking it around! It has helped out a lot to toss it over the shoulder and head on out. Though totally worth having a thicker pad, this helped alleviate pain in my wrists after the longer practices. It's also nice to have different textured sides knowing which side to use, and it really does help let it stick to where it'a put. Then you are using only the one side, I still clean mine up after a heavy practice, even though it's nice to know it's designed with a closed-cell foam. A mat that gives an ease of mind when using it!

I bought this as a gift for my fitness junkie sisters. Needless to say they loved them. Great for Yoga, but also regular stretching and core workouts. Make your living room a planet fitness. Great gift, quality product

When I do Yoga.. Yeah, the best way to describe me is Chet from Weird Science when he was turned into the Pile of Chet. We look the same, I bet we even smell the same and I too feel like I am squirting out fluids from every pore on my body. I like the mat, I am also using one of the Manduka towels on top of it. That does seem to help with giving me better stability on the mat with my excretions that are pouring off me. I tried the mat without the towel and I kinda felt like I was turning it into a slip and slide from my dripping funk. What I did enjoy.. Others have the same mat in class. Though, I do get the same look as in the movie, when people see Chet in his Pile of Chet state for the first time. I am like,, " Hey, dudes!!" . Them.. " Is he really talking to us? Eww." I am glad I can be cool just like all the cool people in class. You want to look the part, you have to dress the part . This mat is just the first step in being accepted as one of their own, The Yoga teacher told me I had nothing to be ashamed of with farting, or swearing in class. As she said.. " It is perfectly normal". Even as I am trying to nail child pose. You might not be cool, collected, agile, flexible, poised, or have any clue where you may have left your Chi, or if you have ever had one, but your mat can let everyone know that you too can be just like them. Namaste.

Best mat ever!!! It's super supportive on your joints and has helped me a ton with poses that put pressure on the knees. I previously would have to layer two matts or fold over a corner to support my knees but this has been a total game changer. I definitely recommend this product!

I challenge you to damage this mat, very sturdy, the only thing is that it is heavy, maybe it is not a great idea for traveling but it is really well built

I bought this one because I wanted to get something more professional (yet I'm just starting practicing Yoga), something more durable and something more gentle on my knees and hands. I looked around and this one seemed to thick all the marks! Indeed, it looks very well built and seems that it's going to hold strong for a long time. It has the right amount of cushioning and because it has a closed-cell surface, water & sweat are not going to filter in, which helps a lot for keeping smelly odors away. When I'm practicing Yoga, I tend to sweat like a pig and my previous mat wasn't grippy enough, so I read that this mat was very good at handling sweat. My experience with this mat regarding its slip-resistant feature has not been a good one, -yet. I know that this mat needs a break-in period which I am yet to apply upon it. In the meantime, I sometimes use the Manduka eQua Mat towel to wick away the excess of sweat, pretty nice.

This is my second Pro. As my practice has developed, the length of my stance has gotten longer. I was getting tired of having to adjust my placement on the mat with the regular length. I'd find myself right at the edge. I thought I'd give a long mat a try. I love it. It's super long though. I'm 6'2. the long mat would be unnecessary for anyone who is my height or shorter unless you have long legs and a long warrior stance.

This mat is the cream of the crop, the most versatile and longest lasting out of any others i have tried. It has a non slip surface which can be used in room temperature classes, or in outdoor environments. With the purchase of a Manduka yoga towel this mat is ideal in hot classes as well. This mat is equipped with a textured bottom also which helps to keep it in one place during a vinyasa flow. The pro differs from other mats with its thickness, and stiff rubber. Each of these features help to not only protect your joints while practicing, but aid to the longevity of life for the mat. There are different width and length options available. For advanced yogies the long or extra long options are ideal so that you can extend to your edge and hold it there. I recommend this mat

I love bikes and can only think of this mat as the Pinarello F10 of yoga mats. Super premium - A pure centerpiece for your practice to come to life. I feel comfortable and fully supported during my practice. I know it's expensive but I've used a few different mats in my day and always thought about this one . Happy I finally got one.

This thing is the Full Lotus Pose of yoga mats. If you're a serious practitioner looking for a lifetime investment, the Manduka Pro mat is for you. It's thick, heavy, sturdy, and stable for balance-intensive floor series, yet provides ample cushion for joints without a squishy, marshmallow-y feel (cough, Jade mats). Just like your bod when you start a daily Ashtanga practice, the mat definitely needs a break-in period. After a week or two of practice, the Pro develops its signature stickiness and loses nearly all traces of rubbery odor typical of yoga mats. I've spent 1000+ hours on my Pro, and there are virtually no signs of wear whatsoever. I don't find it necessary to use a towel for my power vinyasa and general Hatha practice, but if you're a Bikram devotee/hot yoga fiend, pair it with the Manduka towel to prevent your down-dogs from becoming obtuse. Also, don't hesitate to spring for the extra long mat if you're over 5'10'!

My husband and I used these mats for a group yoga session the morning of our wedding and they were just perfect! No slip, lots of cushion and I loved having the variety of colors. Our guests loved the practice and the mats.

I have two Manduka pro Mats and they stand the test of time. I have had one for over 7 years, and it is still in mint condition even after daily practice. My only complaint is that this sucker is heavy. This is not a travel friendly mat. Keep this for your home/studio practice. For going on retreats, traveling, or even attaching it to your back to get to class I would go with the Pro Lite.
