When you're spending your entire day on one gigantic wall, it's best to bring along the Mammut Multipitch Chalk Bag. It has a zippered pocket to stash a phone, tape, sunscreen, snacks, or other small accessories, and a clip inside the pocket secures your keys or wedding ring. There's also a bungee strap with a safety clip to hold extra layers in case the weather is unpredictable.

This is a good bag. The size of the pocket is good for car keys, utility tool, and a snack bar. Unfortunately, it just doesn't fit my OnePlus 3T, even though it has a slim case.

Bringing this chalk bag could mean the difference between bringing a backpack and not. Is it completely necessary? That's for you to decide. However, I've dropped my phone on a multipitch and struggled with gear management as a amateur climber so I got this to consolidate topo's, It headlamp, extra cordage, a mmph-ton of chalk, rope knife, etc. It's one of those things that you buy and wonder if it will have the utility you bought it for, the answer is yes.

The chalk bag is great! I recently broke my phone in a fall when it was in my thigh pocket, and what something that would allow me to bring my phone up on multipitch routes while still keeping it safe. So far, this chalk bag fits the bill perfectly! It fits my Galaxy S9 with room to spare, I could easily still fit some small snack, or keys and a wallet in there. The elastic cord on the bottom seems like it would be great for a light jacket or a soft water bottle, and the other side pockets seem really useful as well. And yes, the main pocket does fit a 12oz can of beer! If you're complaining that your iPhone Plus, or iPad, or laptop, or desktop computer doesn't fit it this thing.... just don't. If your phone doesn't fit in this thing, you need a smaller phone or a backpack, not a bigger chalk bag...

I have S7 Edge (the none exploding type) with a case and it's a slight tight squeeze to get my phone in there. I wish the pocket was 1 in. deeper.

iPhoneX fits perfectly in the pocket. Have put finger tape roll on the bottom cords but have not tried a light jacket. Side pocket is perfect for a bar or sunglasses. Zipper compartment holds keys. A stripped down wallet or bill fold can join cellphone in main pocket. Seems durable. Not too big but big enough to keep your essentials. I clipped it to harness with rear loop to be safest but belt seems good too.

Great bag, but I think a chalk bag is difficult to mess up. The main feature that separates this bag from any other is the phone pocket. Well, the phone pocket is useless. Most modern phones are too large for the pouch. Save your money and figure out a different way to carry your phone.

I bought this multipitch chalk bag so that I could safely carry my phone with me on climbs. The zippered pocket designed to fit the phone is too small for my iphone 7 plus. If only Mammut had put the zippered pocket on the back side (longer side) of the bag instead of the front (curved shorter side) it would have accommodated larger (the newer) phones. I wound up putting the phone (plus some incidentals) in the chalk area and put my chalk sock bag in the zipper pocket. It takes some getting used to; but it does work. I put 2 rappel rings and my knife in the narrow side zippered pocket. Hopefully, Mammut will update this bag so that it can carry newer phones.

Like most Mammut gear, the Multipitch chalk bag did not disappoint in terms of quality. This chalk bag is little bulky but worth it to have the extra storage space for your keys and phone. The bag comes with a strong and sturdy clip to help keep up all the extra weight up, and feels comfy while on.

Well if the others reviewed hadn't tipped you off, this bag is really well designed: Plenty of room for chalk (even enough for those of us with sweaty palms), zippers and pockets galore, and yes, it does fit a beer. Multiple pockets store everything from car keys to a topo map or a small first aid kit. Personally, I put a small knife, first aid kit, emergency headlamp, and phone in mine, with a lightweight windbreaker attached to the bottom. The best part is that I have probably only used up 1/3 of the total available space at that point. Needless to say, this bag is amazing. I never thought a particular chalk bag would make it into my list of items that I couldn't leave behind, but here we are... Thanks Mammut.

And your phone, ear buds, beer, nail clipper, tape, first aid kit, beer, ring, outer shell jacket, head lamp, beer..... Pretty sure you get the picture at this point. But really, I love this for the gym so I can slip my phone (galaxy s7, so its a bigger phone) in it and use my Bluetooth earbuds. No more worries bout someone stepping on my phone anymore! The draw string to keep the chalk in is also really nice. My last bag would always get deformed the more I closed it tight but not this one. So, long story short, best chalk bag out there :)

Haven't hauled a beer yet, but carries the headlamp and jacket nicely. Just a little pricy, but I've enjoying this solution to carrying the extras.

Yes - this is the best gift you can give your climbing friend. This thing has now blessed the hands of many of my friends and they are grateful for it. They mostly appreciate the fact that they too can carry a beer up to pitch 4. Thank you Mammut!

This chalk bag's front pocket fits a beer.... need I say more? Fine.... the bottom elastic bands store a first aid kit or an ultralight alpine jacket, the side pocket secures car keys, the side stash pocket stores sunscreen, and there's an internal divider in the front pocket to separate your phone from your tape, lip balm, or BEER! Most importantly, this chalk bag HOLDS A MOTHATRUCKIN BEER!!!!

This thing is the coolest thing since sliced bread. The main pocket - marketed to fit your "phone" - actually fits a 12 oz can of your favorite malted barley beverage - PERFECTLY. The other zipper pocket on the side fits you cell phone - (up to iphone 6 sized) - it has a mesh keeper on the inside so as you pull it out you wont drop your phone. The other fully mesh pocket on the side is perfect for a candy bar or sunflower seeds etc. The jacket synch on the bottom works amazing. When all of this stuff is in this MICRO backpack - you really cant tell the difference in weight (at least I couldnt with my full rack clipped to my harness) Oh the pleasure of crushing a beer while watching your partner flail on seconding the crux pitch. EVERY multi-pitch climber needs to own one of these. I dont know why it's taken someone so long to make this, but of course Mammut would be the ones. (also fits a flask of whiskey) okay, I'm done now. Takes multipitch climbing to a whole new level.
