The Kuat brand is a brand that we're all familiar with. But what's just as famous as the name is the unrivaled quality and customer support. With this hitch pin it was bought as a replacement on a rack that I'd not purchased new, and had grabbed a run of the mill hitch pin just to substitute. Big mistake. The Kuat hitch pin is considerably better for not only longevity, but ease of access.

I have the Kaut Transfer 2, and that rack does not come with any sort of locking pin, just a normal pin. I wanted to ensure that my rack was always secure so I went with this lock. It was exactly what I expected. A good quality pin that would keep my rack safe being parked outside every night.

I recently purchased the Transfer 2 rack and wanted to make sure I had a locking hitch pin to keep my bikes and the rack safe. This did the trick! I did end up using the pin that came with the rack and just adding the lock. The bottle opener key chain that was included was a nice addition, as well!

Having this lock on my hitch lets me sleep without fear that someone is going to steal my rafting trailer, with my raft on it, or my bike rack with my bikes on it. Small and simple to use. I always keep the plastic cap over the lock so that it doesn't get jammed up with debris.

Thought this pin was bigger than the one that came with the Sherpa bike rack from Kuat. But it is the same size as the pin that comes with the 2" rack. Love the locking device and setup... just wish it fit a little snugger in the pin hole on my hitch.

Just bought a Transfer 2 from Kuat, which has been extraordinarily helpful in taking my Santa Cruz Bronson to the trail head and running to work in its flipped-up, low-profile state. However, the Transfer 2 lacks a locking hitch pin, so you'll have to purchase this as a workaround if you don't want your new investment jacked from your car while parking downtown or leaving your vehicle unattended overnight. You'll just need the locking portion if you're using the Transfer 2, as there's no slop removal via hitch tension adjuster like the pricier Sherpa and NV 2.0 models. If you were to use this pin, it would most likely move excessively at highway speeds. Instead, you'll keep your threaded hitch pin that came with the Transfer 2, then slap this locking end on there to get the job done. It comes with a nice dust/water cover, so moisture and nasty debris doesn't work inside. So far, it's been fine and hasn't made any excessive noise.

It either corroded or got road debris jammed inside, maybe both. Either way, it won't come unlocked. I tried soaking in oil, but I had to have it cut off.

The Kuat Locking Hitch Pin does the trick, but I have had to replace it about every two years from it ceasing up with road debris. Luckily this Spring it ceased while it was off of the truck and not mounted.

This locking hitch pin does it's job. Keeps my rack from being stolen. I do wish that it came in 5/8 in for a 2 inch receiver since that is the size of the pin that actually came with my Kuat rack, but luckily my rack has the hand tight cam system, so it doesn't rattle around.

Got this locking pin to fit better than the one included with the rack. Easy to use, stays in place without rattling

Locks easily and is beefy enough to give you the peace of mind that someone wont run off with your bikes. It's a must have.

Bought this to go with my Transfer 2 rack. I'm the type that likes to leave my rack on my car most of the time to it's ready to go, so this little lock helps me feel a little bit better about the rack no disappearing while I'm away from the car.

I picked this up for use with my new Kuat Transfer 2 rack. On its own, this pin does not do enough to secure the rack into the hitch receiver--there is a lot of wobble. However, the locking head fits onto the threaded pin that comes with the rack. This combination seems to work well.

First, the 1/2" Key-Locking Hitch Pin is for 1-1/4" Class I/II Hitch Receivers. Backcountry does not list the 5/8" pin for 2" Class III/IV receivers i.e. the Kuat rack I purchased. Even if they did, this pin has a removable plastic lock cover, which is not attached and can be easily lost.
