Best pad for sleeping in a hammock undoubtably - and as far as I know the only one really designed just for hammocks - there are some really smart design features like the grippy bottom so it doesn't move around in your sleep - the wings do well to wrap you up - but the one thing I cannot avoid is that it is VERY difficult to deflate it and pack it up, the way the channels are designed you really have to press air out. I once used this at a friends house and even on the hardwood floor I could not get all the air out. I have many times been unable to get this pad down to a size that fits back in my pack and I end up strapping an awkwardly folded amassment to the outside.

A good sleeping pad or under quilt are absolute musts for hammock camping in the colder months. This pad stays put and definitely does it’s job. Works great on the ground as well if you happen to find yourself without a place to hang for the evening.

While it does take at least 15 or so breaths to inflate, it’s well worth it! The Insulated Hammock V is certainly warmer than it’s un-insulated form, and it adds a bit of platform rigidity to a hammock which is fantastic to have a little room to move and adjust. It can be a little cumbersome to get set where you want it the first couple times, but once it is in, it really doesn’t slide around much if any. I’ll certainly be taking it whenever I’m slinging a hammock and can afford the little bit of extra weight and volume.
