Satellite communication enables two-way messaging and LiveTrack location sharing to keep your loved ones informed of your whereabouts, and with a subscription to inReach you can trigger an SOS to the GEOS 24/7 emergency response team in case of emergency.

Built for the long-haul, this rugged GPS handheld features a highly water-resistant design and a bright color display that's readable even in bright, sunny conditions, and the internal, rechargeable battery can provide a whopping 200 hours of life when set in expedition mode. It comes preloaded with Garmin TopoActive mapping for North and Central America, with multiple GNSS support and navigation sensors to guide your way. These detailed maps keep you informed of terrain contours, topographic elevations, summits, parks, coastlines, water features, and points of interest. I have owned this now for about 5 months and never go on a backcountry adventure without it. With how spotty mobile service is in backcountry Idaho, I bought this to put my wife's mind at rest while mountaineering. Even in the most remote of areas, I feel confident that whether I break down, have an animal encounter, get lost, or injure myself my family will be at peace knowing exactly where I am. The text message system works great.
