Haven't worn it on the trail yet but if fits well for me and I like it a little loose. It is comfortable and breathes well.

I bought this shirt, several actually, as gifts for my father and uncle because they both spend a lot of time outdoors but they are sensitive to the sun so they need shirts that will keep them covered up but still cool in the warmer months. This shirt definitely fit the bill! I bought them in navy and fossil which is like a khaki tan sort of color. Both are well made and seem to be very lightweight while still giving lots of protection against the sun rays. It has quickly become their favorite shirts!! It does run big but they don't seem to mind it too much.

Shirt is lightweight and very breathable. I usually wear an XL but the Large I bought fits perfect.

So I used this on a backpacking trip and it worked great. My initial impressions when I felt the material was that it was way too light, would snag and tear. But it snagged on several things and didn't tear or anything. It is very breathable and loved wearing it. Only thing is this shirt is super baggy. Although I am a slender person with broad shoulders and I normally get along fine with a medium but this shirt was way too baggy. We are talking when I lifted my arms up I'd have 5-6 inches of fabric hanging off each side of me. To make sure you can visualize, the shirt buttoned and everything was my chest size plus 10-12 inches total.

I purchased this for my father in law. He typically wears a large, including in fishing shirts from Ex Oficio and others. He found this shirt to be a bit big, and will be returning it for a medium. I don't know if Columbia in general runs large or if it is just this shirt, but it was big in the waist, the shoulder, and the arms

The Columbia Tamiami II Button-Down Shirt is perfect for those hot days out chasing fish. It breathes well and dries quickly if wet. It fits a bit large (I didn't have to size down though), but the extra room allows the air to circulate and just adds to the cooling effect. The style seems to be just as comfortable on the river or out to dinner. Either way, I may end up with another one of these in a different color.

This shirt is awesome. Super comfy material, love fly fishin with it. Has a ton of great features and the color options are amazing. I recommend this to anyone. It runs really big. I usually wear a large in everything but had to down size to a medium but the medium is even a little big.

So I have three of these, because I love the look and feel and wanted a variety of color. But definitely not due to a lack of durability or quality. This is my go-to long-sleeve for long hot summer days in the fishing boat. Up bright and early, and sun glaring off the surface of the water all around you can fry you up pretty fast. But these shirts are breathable enough to where you can drop the sleeves down and keep yourself protected without putting your life in danger of a heat stroke. It's a great example of form meets fashion. You could just as easily wear it out on an adventure or to the local brewery with friends. Only note: I'm 6' ~170lbs and a habitual medium. I wear these in small.

This shirt is essential if you spend your summers fishing. long sleeve and breathable it's just what you need to keep you cool and comfortable for long days on the river. the loops on the sleeves allow you roll up your cuff to your elbow and keep it there all day. the material was surprisingly durable. I used it for field work doing rangeland and riparian ecology work. snagged it on some barbed wire and the rip stop worked and the tear did not spread beyond the square, which was extremely nice. wouldn't change anything with this. just picked up a couple more for the summer. if you fish, you NEED this shirt

compared to TNF equivalent, the sizing is a little more forgiving...the fabric has plenty to stretch too...use this for hiking across the Japan Alps and its great...only slight complaint is the sleeve tabs could be a little higher for rolling up, i prefer to have them roller above my elbows, these shirts (i have three) tend to sit a little just below the elbow...having said that the loop and hitch mechanism is one of the better sleeve roll combo's...fabric breathes really well and also packs down to nothing for stuffing in anywhere...great casual and functional shirt...4 starts because of the sleeve thing...otherwise great...
