This jacket doesn’t make sense to me. I bought it because it was supposed to be as insulated as many other jackets I have had but every time I wear it I’m freezing. I would rather wear my shell with an insulator than this. Even with a mid layer the swash falls short. It just doesn’t feel worth the money. The swash is the first burton AK piece I wouldn’t buy again. I just know that come spring the insulation will be too much there’s no temperature that it would be good for. Anyone considering this jacket do yourself a favor and get the AK bk lite insulator and a shell instead. The color is good the fit is decent it is absolutely waterproof. So it’s not ALL bad however it’s not for me.

Overall this is a really nice jacket. Very well made. Face fabric seems durable. Wide cuffs makes wearing over gloves easier than most jackets I've used. I really like jackets with light insulation like this. You can get away with lighter base layers, yet it's not too heavy to wear on warm days. One flaw IMO: The hood is not helmet compatible. It only covers half my helmet, and with it on it's nearly impossible to zip up because it's too tight. Looks like Burton decided to gear it toward people who ride without a helmet, in which case it fits perfectly. (pic compared to an Arcteryx hood) Overall I recommend this jacket........but if you wear a helmet and having a functional hood is important, it's probably not for you.

The mix of GORE-TEX and the new Primaloft insulation make this one of the best performing jackets I've ever had. Not to mention the improved fit in the AK line, highly recommend this one.
