Great piece of gear. It's perfect for peakbagging, climbing (cragging or multipitch), or just generally being outside with lots of sun. It saved me from getting burnt at all this past summer. Thumb loops and maybe a small pocket would be nice features, but I don't feel that it's drastic enough to deduct points. The hood is huge as well and can fit over a helmet or, if worn with a hat, offers total sun protection on the face. The material is much more durable than one might expect from how thin it is.

This year's is wayyyy better than the older version, old one was meh. This new one is going to make me get rid of my old ones. The updated fabric feels lighter and more breathable, so it keeps you even more comfortable on hot days. New hood fits really well without a helmet (will fit over a helmet still tho) and the cut is a bit slimmer in the torso (but not the shoulders). Fit is great for any active pursuit. I use this regularly for scrambling, hiking, climbing and days on the water.

Love this hoodie as it provides full coverage but keeps me cool in warmer weather. I find it perfect for hiking especially on days when the temperature can change. Super comfy as well, bought a couple to have.

A very lightweight hoody with a 50+ UPF rating. Prevents the exhaustion that comes with too much Sun, not to mention skin damage. Great for exposed ridge hikes, and early morning and late afternoon Sun while moving around camp. The material is so light, you can rinse it in a Lake or Brook, wring it out, and it will dry within a hour while worn and within in a few hours attached to the outside of a pack. I cannot attest to durability.

I've never owned UV protected clothing before getting this shirt. Love the feel, and the added fact that you don't need to wash after a day of wear, have yet to take it out in the sun for an all day hike/climb, but I'm excited to see how it holds up!

As a frequent desert goer and someone who spends much of their time in the sun, it's imperative that I protect my skin. Lots of sunscreen and many wide brim hats help, but UPF rated garments really add another layer of security and the Alpenglow top is perfect for this. I have the women's model and I love it. It breathes well, the color is amazing, its treated with Polygiene which I have first-hand experience with in regards to its anti-odor properties (5 stars!), and its comfortable It works well under a harness, and the hood serves as yet another way to shield the back of your neck from the sun. It's lightweight, so you can wear this underneath a midlayer, over a synthetic tshirt, or as a standalone layer. You could definitely wear this for doing basically anything outdoors where you will be exposed to the sun for extended periods of time. The material is a little bit delicate as far as climbing clothing goes (meaning mine already has nicks and pills on it from my chest brushing against a rock wall or indoor climbing wall) , but as long as it's not abused it should last a couple of seasons. Here's a picture of when I wore this climbing in Rock Canyon down in Provo, Utah! Fit: True to size, a little long.

Thin and breathable enough to wear on blazing hot days to provide excellent protection against the great ball of fire. Gust of wind hits the shirt it instantly cools you down. Hood is a little big but if you're wearing a helmet it will fit under it, or just keep your head down a little and it works as designed. Officially the only non-black gear I own. But worth my personal compromise. 5'7" 163lbs broad shoulders but a SMALL is nice and fitted.

BD hit a home run with this piece! This shirt has just the right fit in all areas to keep you cool, protected from the sun, and is not too baggy around the waist when wearing a harness. This will be my go to shirt for warm sunny days on the wall.

This isn't another fishing shirt. You can tell it was designed by climbers and skiers and the cut reflects so, it has a slimmer more active cut. Sometimes there just isn't enough sun screen to keep you from getting burned. When that is the case, this is my go to shirt. I love it for climbing, spring skiing , long approaches or long days on the water. It keeps the sun off you, but allows the breath ability you want on those warmer days.

Such a nice piece for long climbs in the sun, long days on the lake, SUPing, or fishing. Whatever you're doing this spring and summer that involves extended hours in the sun this hoodie will keep you skin cancer free. Super light and comfortable and it has a really nice cut. I have a large for more of a loose comfort fit, and a medium for a more technical fit. I am 5'11"' 180lbs and they both fit great.
