This was my first purchase with Back country, so I didn't know what to expect. I orders these for cold weather cycling, and never quite sure about size from one brand to another. I ordered this in Large because I wanted to be able to add another layer under if necessary (I'm usually about at a size 10). Used them for the first time yesterday, and what a comfortable fit, not to mention they kept me nice and warm.

I've been wanting these for a couple years, I finally got a pair the other day as a gift. I've been buying size small leggings for awhile but recently realized I'm probably a size xs, which is the size I got in these (hips 35" waist 28"). These fit me great, skin-tight as leggings ought to be but not too tight anywhere on me. There is a tiny tiny bit of extra fabric in the crotch, which I think is due to how thick the material is - these are not the skin-tight of a lulu legging, the fabric is just too thick and fleecy for that. The waistband is wide and compressive and the pockets are a great size for my hands and iphone 8. These might be a bit thicker and more structured than you want for lounging around the house (or they might not... I just prefer ultra comfort like sweatpants when I'm at home!), but I took these on a rough hike the other day and they performed great. It was only five or so miles but it was extremely humid - pouring sleet/rain at about 30F. The trail was pure ice and my yaktrax are semi-broken so I unfortunately fell a couple times. It took about 2 hours for the rain to really soak all the way through these because of how thick they are, and about 2-3 hours for them to dry out as I wore them around/in the car afterwards. They took no damage from my icy falls and kept me ultra warm until they were thoroughly drenched, if you're being active in these and the wind isn't insane, I figure these will keep me warm down into the single digits. The fabric itself is slightly different than I expected but I love it. The inside is fleecy and soft and the outside is a more slippery structured material. I wish I had a picture of me wearing them on the hike because I think they look great, but it was too wet and icky for pictures. My other best pair of fleece winter tights is from lululemon and these by far outperform those, and my lulu's were 50$ more. I'll update or write another review if these don't hold up well, but right now I think they are DEFINITELY worth the money. Buy a pair and be cozy.

I bought these previously in Feb 2020 - the new waistband is quite different so the fit was unexpected as the Small I bought previously fits perfect. Nothing wrong with having a more formal waistband - I just found it far too restrictive & uncomfortable for my choice so I will have to return and size up.

This was my first pair of fleece-lined leggings, but now I’m hooked! I’ve worn them biking, hiking, running, and lounging, and I haven’t found any flaws! The fleece lining is soft and effective as an insulator, even when it’s windy. They’re thick but not bulky, and are form-fitting. The drawstring in the waist is effective at keeping these leggings on, but is also discrete and comfortable when it’s not being used. I recommend these to anyone recreating outside in the cold, or anyone who just wants their legs to be super cozy!

Like an awesome yoga pant, but on wintry steroids. With a super soft fleece lining, serious stretch, and 2 stealthy thigh pockets, these pants have become my go-to for winter runs and hikes, and as a baselayer under snow pants on super cold days. They're also comfy enough to just wear around the house all day.

These have been on my mind and my wish list for over a year now and I am so thrilled they just arrived in my life this week! The are SO warm and cozy - perfect for working from home as temps are dropping, and I know they'll be great for cold weather hikes and shoulder season camping as well. They have a very soft fleece lining, are really thick, have a nice weather resistant finish, high waist, and a drawstring to dial in the fit. Plus a phone pocket! I am a small in most Backcountry bottoms but find myself between sizes per the size chart. I was a little worried about ordering a small, but they are super stretchy and I'm happy I sized down. I'm 5'3", 125 lbs, 28 in waist for reference.

I love these leggings. The material is thick and they have a thick waist band which I love with leggings so ya don't get those weird lumps and bumps. Super soft on the inside. PLUS they have pockets! These are all around great leggings and I will be ordering them in every color. I ordered a small and was a little worried they'd be too small, but they are very stretchy and fit great!

I was given this product by Backcountry, but this review is my personal opinion. These leggings are great! They've been perfect for shoulder season in the northeast. I love how they are relatively thin compared to other fleece lined leggings I've had in the past but they are just as if not warmer and significantly more comfortable to wear as they aren't nearly as bulky as competitors. I've used these leggings on trail runs and hikes in a variety of conditions. I recently wore these leggings hiking the Fraconia Ridge loop hike in New Hampshire with ice and 50mph wind gusts. I was super impressed how they kept me incredibly warm and comfortable the entire time, even when I'd get warm while ascending, they kept me cool with how breathable they are. The material moves with you and has held up well to mud, ice, granite and Bernese Mountain dog paws and even after a few washes, still maintain its original fit. They fit true to size, although being on the longer legged spectrum, they are short on me but any sock I have worn with them, make up the difference but performance wise they are still 5 stars in my book. Looking forward to wearing these under some touring bibs this winter.

This legging rocks! I have two other brands but the fit and elasticity staying power far exceeds the two other popular brands. And the high waist stays put! I wear daily and put on a down skirt when going into town. I highly recommend if you like leggings and want more warmth.

Super comfortable, but started pilling on the first wear. I'm not sure what the problem is but hopefully they address it since I'd otherwise buy again!

I purchased these to use as a baselayer for cold-weather camping, but they were so warm I was able to wear them by themselves the next morning. They are soft and super comfortable, and definitely allow for a lot of movement. The fit is great - form-fitting but not too tight, and not binding at the top (despite them being higher waisted). I didn't have any issues with pilling just from wear the first day or initial washing like some others have had.

Purchased these to have for my early morning power walks, thought I needed something as it's starting to get colder. Fit close to body but not binding. Warm but very light weight feeling - which is strange. High waist, again not binding. So comfortable, I can see me wearing these around the house lounging in them as well - bought in two colors, wish I could get my size in the other color too!!! I can also see using these as a bae layer under my ski pants too - so versatile and on sale, bargain!!

Wasn't sure what to expect with these. The inside has a little drawstring, which is nice, but they're not super high waisted. Love that the side pockets are also fleece -lined. I haven't tried them out yet, but I'm nervous they'll slide down as I walk/run.

These were highly recommended by a "hiker blogger" on Pinterest; and the Backcountry reviews seemed like they were the right fleece lined pants for me. The day I got them in they didn't feel like quality fabric or insulated enough for a good base layer, but they fit perfect and were comfortable so I took them for a 2 hour hike the next day. I've never had a problem with pilling on any of my leggings or tights, but these pilled automatically- which was so disappointing! They look to shoddy to wear alone anymore due to the pilling all over the pants, but I don't want to pay the shipping cost so I'll keep them as "household cleaning" lounge pants. Wouldn't recommend at all. I'm 123lbs and 5'7".

I bought these pants with the intent of using them for XC skiing and other winter adventures, but when quarantine hit, they became my go-to pant for work-from-home and just lounging around in the house. These came highly recommended from Gearhead, Kayla. She was very right. They are very comfortable yet not skin tight like typical leggings, but not as loose as a jogger. I wore them for a full week of (car) camping in Mammoth when it got cold at night and the full fleece lining kept me nice and warm. After two months, I am starting to notice some pilling, as other reviewers have mentioned, but that won't stop me from wearing them.

I absolutely loved these legging when I got them. The fit was great, the color, the pockets the fleece...I was so excited. I have worn them TWICE and now they look terrible. The pilled where my legs rub, where I sat in the car, where my jacket touched...they look too terrible to wear any more. Not worth the money for sure.

I bought these tights less than 2-months ago. They fit great, kept me warm and were very comfy. They quickly became my favorite go tights. But after washing them only 2-3 times the fabric started to pull. By now, not even two months since I bought them, the fabric has pilled and faded, and they look terrible. Sadly, I would not recommend these at all, they won’t last.

These pants are warm - yet flexible and easy to move in. Not to mention they're quite flattering - high waist, yet no foopa.

I was really excited when I got these in the mail and tried them on. They're awesome! Warm, comfortable and they fit well. I like the high rise and the pockets, and the inside drawstring lets you fit the waist just how you want. Fit was true to size for me. Can't wait to wear them more!

I did not know how much I was going to love these leggings. They're fleece-backed, warm, soft and comfy, and they look and fit very well. They're a little on the looser side than some leggings, more like pants in a way, esp with the adjustable waist. And naturally, I love the pockets. The dress blues shade is gorgeous. Might grab another pair in a dif color.
