I absolutely love the fit, fabric, stretch and color of these pants and get so many compliments on them. However, similar to other reviews, the waistband began unraveling the first time I wore them and has gotten worse and worse with each subsequent wear. I have only worn these pants about 4 times and washed them once (and air dryed) and the seams and threads in the waistband are a total mess. I am disappointed in the poor quality because these would be my everyday pants and I'd definitely purchase a pair in every color if they didn't have this issue. I am very disappointed that I paid almost $100 for pants that are falling apart after just one use!!

These pants feel really great on almost like you're not wearing pants :) Super comfortable with a good amount of stretch for climbing. The thick waist band is nice if you are climbing with a harness. I didn't have to worry about the back of the pant sliding down or gaping. I wear a 26 in almost every brand and went with and XS in these and they fit perfect. Would love to see this material in a more casual jogger with a lower rise!

I love these pants. They're perfect for summer cragging, bopping around town for beers, hiking, or all of the above. They're technical enough to support abrasion, but look super cute, too! The eggplant color changes things up from black, but doesn't show dirt (or dimples). I'm pretty curvy (little in the middle, big hips and booty) and the stretchy, high waistband works perfectly to move with me and under a harness.

A climbing pant, yes- but I actually really love these for hiking! I love the fit: loose enough to be comfortable but fitted enough where it's not in the way. Great stretch to them so they move wherever the outdoors takes you! The pockets are also a great size for holding whatever you need. The size fit pretty true and I loved the color options - a good change of pace from my other traditional hiking pants that are navy and brown!

I ALMOST left these pants five stars when I first got them. I bought them in the eggplant purple and loved them SO MUCH that I bought a second pair in purple and a third pair in the gray. Initially, I was so impressed. The eggplant color is beautiful and the fit is perfect. I received so many compliments on these pants the first few times I wore them, and was highly recommending them to everyone. They were pretty much perfect in my eyes. HOWEVER - after a couple times climbing in the purple pants with my harness, they started to pill like crazy where the waist and leg straps of the harness make contact with the pants. For $100 pair of climbing specific pants, I was not impressed. AND THEN! After the first time I washed the gray pair, the second seam on the waist band almost disappeared. The photo is from only the second time putting them in the wash, following all of the washing instructions. The same thing happened after the first wash, but I did not get to photograph. These pants have so much potential, but the quality and durability is crazy low. I initially loved them, and still want to love them, but they are simply not worth what I paid for them and I regret my purchases. I haven't even worn the second pair in the eggplant color because I'm afraid to. Backcountry, please do something about this!!

So I really want to love these pants! They're super stretchy for good movement. The high waist is perfect and keeps you feeling secure. The zippered back pocket makes sure my chapstick doesn't go flying. I like that the length isn't too long. However, I'm worried about the durability. I climbed in these once outside and a handful of times at the gym. So they've been washed maybe 5-6 times at this point. When I pulled them out of the wash the other day, there was thread everywhere! The stitching has come out in the waistband. :( I'm worried about them further unraveling. This seems pretty unacceptable for a pair of $100 pants. Please improve the quality of the stitching and add more colors and these would be pretty darn perfect!

I get so many compliments on these pants! I don't have much else to add beyond what has already been said other than I would like more colors next season. True to size, flattering, casual cut, durable. All around great pant for climbing or whatever else!

Dear Backcountry, please restock the "egg plant" color ASAP! I would love to own a second pair :) These are comfortable in a wear all day kind of way, then sleep in them, then wear them for the next week. Very flattering for a girl with substantial thighs and glutes. Love the high rise fit of them. The mediums are fitted but still loose in places, I don't think I would want them tighter. I think the next size down would have felt too tight to move around in for my height/weight/build

I bought these with the 20% off code to use backpacking for Labor Day Weekend, and climbing in general (mostly indoor, some outdoor.) Basically, these pants are AMAZING. I had wanted the eggplant color but it was sold out so settled on the sage -- and now I wish I had both! I thought the pictures online made the sage look more gray, but they are definitely a sage color and lighter than the pics online. These pants are light, comfortable, stretchy, the rise is just high enough to nip in the waist and look flattering, and the length is perfect on me at 5'7" -- they hit just above the ankles, which was what I wanted. I typically wear a size 28 or 6 or M in pants, (28" waist, 39" hips) and went with the medium here -- the fit is perfect -- although with a backpack strapped on, I noticed that they were actually quite loose -- I might have been able to size down comfortably and might do so when I buy a second pair next spring (because I don't buy multiples usually but these are so good). I slipped in some mud during the trip but these washed and dried quickly enough with a good scrub in the creek -- nothing I couldn't handle. Another bonus is that these pants look so good that they could definitely pass in a casual work environment! My best friend tried these pants on after I did and now wants a pair of her own...

Dear Backcountry, please make these pants in 10 more colors. I will buy them all! Thanks. For starters, I dont usually write reviews. Also, I did not order these pants for climbing. I ordered these pants for hiking, regular outdoor use. I hoped to be able to wear them to work. I hate buttons and I hate pants that are too tight. These are perfect. The material doesnt sound like the old school wind breaker type pants. They fit nicely, they look great. They move with you and dont feel restrictive anywhere. I plan to wear them daily at work and regularly on the weekends.

I did not buy these specifically for climbing... mostly for outdoor activities and casual wear. I was hesitant to buy at first because I usually have trouble with this type of pant being too tight on my thighs and butt, but too loose on my waist. This is NOT the case with these pants! They fit PERFECTLY! I think part of it has to do with the stretchy material. I truly cannot tell you how much I love these pants. They are so comfortable, breathable, and flattering. They stretch a little bit, but hold their shape throughout the day. I highly recommend! I plan to purchase in a second color.

Love these pants so far! The material is incredibly durable. I wore these pants for a day of trail work on one of Backcountry's Adopted Trails and these pants past the test after a full day of work! I like that these are more durable than my standard leggings that I usually wear hiking which make them great for handling tools and getting dirty on the trail. One thing that really stood out to me was it's quick drying tech! As I started to work up a sweat on the hot day, I was starting to get worried that the sweat might show through the pants and they never did! And then when I would stop for a 5-10 minute break, the pants dried up super quickly! I was super impressed! Lastly, the waistband is incredibly comfortable and so is the stretch material, and the pockets fit a phone comfortably while moving.

These are pretty freakin rad climbing pants. I was sent the Double Dyno Climbing Pant by Backcountry to gear test and they exceeded my expectations!! They are extremely comfortable and have an amazing stretch. They are lightweight which is perfect for climbing on those hot days. This was my first pair of climbing-specific pants and they are just awesome. The high waist is perfect. I personally don't like to climb in shorts since I always get my legs banged up. Backcountry Double Dyno Climbing Pant is the way to go for climbing and any adventure. Honestly, I also love wearing the Double Dyno pants as my airplane pants or around town too. I am 5'3 and 130 pounds and wearing the size small and it fits perfectly.

The stretch fabric, high waist, and trim fit makes these a constant staple whenever I plan to play outside. Tailored but not tight means I can even get away with wearing them to the office! The fabric is on the heavier side so these will stay in the closet during Utah summers, but they are more durable due to the heavier weight. Love them!

When I first got these, I was a little nervous because some of the stitching around the waistband isn't perfectly straight and it looked like there could be some bunching. But once I put the pants on, they looked and felt stellar. Overall, I'd say the quality is excellent and any minor flaws in their construction are overcome by the superb design and materials.I haven't taken these climbing yet, but I have worn them on a short hike and I'm confident that they are more than flexible and durable enough to hold up on the wall. I'm a huge fan of these and plan on buying them in the other color offered. Final note on sizing: I tried an XS first as I find most similar brands run pretty big and the XS didn't fit right; these are true to size. The XS was still pretty comfortable and looked good, but the waist was too tight and the butt a little too contoured. The small is perfect. Not too big, not too small. I've got about a 26" waist and a 35" hip measurement.

The women’s climbing pant designers finally listened and gave us high waisted pants! I’m 5’8 and don’t feel like I have a freakishly long torso or anything, but have never found sufficiently high waisted climbing pants until now. Super comfortable fabric, light but sturdy, nice cropped pant style with tapered leg but not skinny. I tried them out on a multi pitch on both sport & trad, and they fared perfectly. They even stood the test with not pooling sweat on a hilly approach in mid 70s temps. Excellent pants, I might get more colors! 28” waist and 38” hip and the medium was perfect.

The overall design and fabric are great. These are stretchy and mid to high waist. The waist bend is a little bit stiff, hopefully it will soften after wash. To me these are not cropped length (I am 5"4'). Wish they come in a shorter inseam.

I got them for climbing and they are the most comfortable and movable pants! I like the fact that they are not super tight--they are not meant to be yoga Lulu-lemon pants. The fabric moves so nicely with you and I love the higher waste band--it stays where it suppose to without leaving uncomfortable marks. Also, I like to roll up my pants and surprisingly, the pants stay where I leave them!! I don't have to continue re-adjust them for comfort. Getting the second pair now!
