The TR1 Merge Water Shoe by Astral is ideal for backpacking to pristine, and stocked, alpine lakes and casting lines off the shore. This technical hiking shoe is designed to get wet with it's quick-drying and breathable canvas upper, and mesh tongue, so that you can make your way through spring run-off streams and splash on the lake's shoreline. And to keep you comfortable while hiking, the EVA midsole provides all-day cushioned support while a Top Shank lies just beneath the foot bed to enhance stabilization over varied terrain. Preventing you from smelling like the catch-of-the-day, Astral included a Polygiene treated and removable insole so that you can dry out and refresh after a few splashes. Extra-soft G.15 rubber sole provides extra grip with enhanced contouring and deep lugs, while defined flex grooves move with your feet.

I've done miles of canoeing and portaging in these shoes and I never missed a step. Very comfortable. dries quickly. I am very happy with these and highly recommend them.

This shoes are great: durable materials, very grippy outsole, good lacing, casual look. I normally wear 10,5. Have loyak size 10 and TR1 junction size 10,5, both shoes are very comfortable. These shoes are shorter and less roomy in size 10,5, than my Loyak, hurt my big toes, was not pleasant on the first trip. Overall, great shoe, but definitely size up.

I've been using these for a month or so and am very pleased with the fit, comfort and ruggedness of the boot. Made for hiking along waterways and wading in the boots paired with a good pair of neoprene wading socks fit perfectly (order one size up from your standard size). They dry quickly and work well in all water situations.

Fantastic shoe. drains well, light, great support, excellent fit, dries well and has good grip on wet rocks. Only used it on two paddling trips so far and looking forward to many more.
