From crisp fall days at the crag to deep powder days on the mountain, enjoy the comfort and freedom of the Arc'teryx Men's Kyanite Hooded Fleece Jacket. This streamlined fleece offers lightweight warmth and total mobility whether you layer it under a shell or wear it as a standalone piece.

Polartec Power Stretch Pro traps heat and stretches effortlessly to keep up with your movements when you're skiing, hiking, or climbing. It manages moisture to keep heat-robbing dampness from leaving you cold and clammy, and it also breathes well to keep you from overheating during arduous ascents. It's ready for your toughest adventures with a nylon face for abrasion-resistance on close encounters with rocks and brush, as well as an articulated design and underarm gussets for added mobility on tricky climbing routes. The close-fitting ScubaHood keeps your dome warm and fits comfortably under a hood, and the hand pockets sit high on your torso so you can access them while wearing a backpack or harness.

I've been rocking Arc'Teryx Apparel and using their Gear for 21 years now. So I know the innovations that the Arc'Teryx Designers were known for, and I know the back-steps that they've taken regarding their loss of articulated apparel patterning. Arc'Teryx: Kyanite Hoody Men's. Sizing/Fitment: Fitment is true to size! Not loose, slightly snug in the belly but it does stretch significantly. You don't want a mid-base layer to fit loose like a sweatshirt. I prefer the patterning and fitment of the awesome Men's Fortrez Hoody. Comfort: The comfort is good due to my favorite fabric Polartec Power Stretch which is even more Stretchier than before which is always a bonus! The patterning is pretty basic. But as always I do miss the old-school Arc'Teryx neck patterning that they were always known for. I would LOVE to see some Wrist Thumb Holes just like on the awesome LEAF Naga Hoody Gen 1 & LEAF Cold XZ Zip Neck SV, and especially on every mid-base layer, Arc’teryx makes. That's an important functional feature that needs to happen asap! Quality: Polartec Power Stretch has always been the number one fabric for me that Arc'teryx has utilized over the years in different weights, but I prefer the thicker weight because it lasts longer through usage and washes. Note: do NOT put in the dryer. So I totally LOVE the new Polartec Power Stretch that's even softer and stretchier than before! Polartec Power Stretch is utilized in my favorite pieces such as the: Rho AR Zip Neck Men's & Rho AR Bottoms, LEAF Naga Hoody Gen 1, LEAF Cold XZ Zip Neck SV, Fortrez Hoody Men's, Kyanite Vest Men's. I don't care about weight. I care about proper fitment, overall comfort, stretch, warmth, styling, functionality, durability, longevity, and most importantly quality! I don't like the change to the main metal zipper pull, I much prefer the look and quality of the older YKK rounded Aluminum can pull-tab shaped metal zipper pull that was covered with a thick coat of paint which has never ever failed me. Request: Please add Wrist Thumb Holes! Please go back to the older tried and true YKK rounded pull-tab shaped metal main zipper pull tab, larger interior pocket w/zipper. Pros: Fitment, styling, soft and stretchy material (Polartec Power Stretch), usability, flatlock construction, new No Slip Zip concept, Medium Gray color-way. Cons: NO Wrist Thumb Holes :( Flimsy new main metal zipper pull tab, no petite zipper garages, no exterior auxiliary pocket. Interior pocket w/zipper is too small for current iPhones with a slim case. The interior pocket and zipper need to be an inch taller and an inch wider, and the zipper needs to be at least an inch and a half longer. The interior pocket as of now you could only fit a small phone, or a Cliff Bar, or a key fob with lip balm. Arc'Teryx Designers need to anticipate future mobile smartphones sizes, which are increasingly getting larger. I also don't like having to un-zip my fleece to get an item, I much prefer an exterior chest pocket just like on the Men's Fortrez Hoody. GearFreakNY :)

First day owning this and I cant say it enough, arcteryx fits me better than anything out there. I have long arms and wide shoulders. Seems like most companies have sold out there initial purpose to please the overweight short armed masses. I could see it being a little short if you have a long torso. Location of inner chest pocket is great for a backpack just below the top strap. I could see the zipper thing being an issue for some. Personally I like it, one handed pull apart unzips without worry of ripping anything.(we'll see if that opinion lasts) Glad i didn't buy another fortrez hoody. Fleece weight very similar to the Rho Ar bottoms i have. Also superb.

Agree with previous reviewer, the zipper on this jacket is not great. It's not a deal breaker for me because I don't intend to "pull" the sides of the zipper apart. However, if your jacket was really tight, I can see how it would be problematic. Other than that flaw, it's crazy soft, stretchy, and well constructed. I plan to keep it and use it as my go to light jacket for dry weather. Will also work well as a skiing layer for cold days.

This jacket is insanely comfortable. The true athletic cut fits perfectly under a down sweater or rain shell and the scuba hood is bomber in a cold snap. The Polartec Power Stretch does a great job balancing warmth and breathability. I've worn this fleece everyday since I bought 3+ months ago, washed it a couple times and it looks almost brand new. It's also amazingly adaptable from layering up for 0-degree mornings, to uphill xc-ski slogs, to breezy afternoons in the 60s.

There appears to be a serious design defect on this jacket - they used a non-locking zipper, so anytime there's even a slight amount of stretch put into the fabric (and they use a stretchy fabric), it immediately comes unzipped. I tried going through Arc'teryx warranty service to get this fixed. I sent the jacket to them on May 8, and after numerous emails, they promised to send me a new one. I received the replacement today (July 13) - SEVENTY FIVE days later. And it has not been fixed. The jacket still unzips under the smallest amount of pressure. So frustrated.

This has hands down become my go to hoody. Great as a mid layer for really cold days, but my primary use has been casual wear for brisk spring days. Love the soft fleece material and stretch.

I recently picked a Kyanite up a few weeks ago and am blown away at how comfortable it is. The fleece is super soft and has a bunch of stretch to it, so it's not restricting at all when being active in it. Super pumped on this midweight layer!

Love it on its own and layered underneath either the Solano or Atom SL. Looking forward to trying in colder temps with the Atom LT and a hardshell. Plan on purchasing another in the different color.

Love this Hoody! The fit is athletic as stated in the specs, great layering piece under my Gamma MX. The jacket really moves with you with an incredible amount of stretch. It is much warmer than I had expected for such a light and thin piece (I don't know how they do it! Thanks Arc'teryx) The hood is nice and snug but doesn't hinder movement and is super soft as is the rest of the jacket. My favorite part is the thoughtful design of the pockets, they have a soft face against your hands but mesh backing which really let you vent excess heat when unzipped, genius! This, for a fleece, ranks right up there with my Atom LT for midlayer bliss!
