The Volcom Fern Insulated Gore Pullover Jacket has equal parts protection and style, with a functional anorak design and list of features that will keep you dry and toasty on the slopes. It's constructed from a waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex membrane for reliable moisture protection, even when the powder is waist deep, while lightweight synthetic insulation traps your body heat for reliable warmth when the temperature plummets.

You'll appreciate how the adjustable hood, cuffs, and hem seal out the elements when the wind is whipping and the snow is flying, and the slightly longer cut offers extra coverage on the chilly chairlift. If the day turns to bluebird and starts to heat up, generous underarm vents efficiently dump excess heat, meaning you don't have to stop shredding to shed a layer.

I am sort of a gore snob and shop for jackets starting there, as when I’m on the mountain I want to stay dry and warm. This jacket meets those needs perfectly. There is a zipper along your left side that goes into the armpit that opens up this anorak. I haven’t been too annoyed with taking this on/off as opposed to a regular zip in the front, and the style is very cute. Someone already yelled at me “you look good in camo” and don’t I know it! Worst part of this jacket is the lack of pockets inside and on the arm. There are two separate pockets (left and right) that make that anorak pocket look. I usually stock my ski pass in my jacket arm, but I have to find it and drag it out of the front pocket time to time in this jacket. I also love an inside pocket for my phone and hate having them stored in an outside pocket ? That said, no regrets! Found this to be TTS! Not tight in the arms at all and I have no problem wearing a base layer.

This jacket is awesome! The fabric is so soft (almost looks like very fine cord). It's the perfect shell to protect from the wind on the mountain. I got the size medium which doesn't allow for much layering. I recommend wearing a good insulate and the shell and you're good to go! It is also on the longer side ( below the bum) which also allows for some extra warmth.
