Sometimes the mountain can be the judge, jury, and executioner, so avoid getting sentenced unfairly with the K2 Verdict Helmet. Wrapped in a tough ABS shell, and cushioned with impact-resistant EPS foam, the Verdict is built to withstand the test of time and keep your egg nice and safe. This dome-protector offers a cool, customized fit through the Passive-Channel venting and K2Dialed fit system, which adjusts by the twist of a dial. It also takes style cues from the skate world for a brimless, low-key design that doesn't make too much noise on the hill.

This helmet is really nice and met my pre-teen's high standards for style and comfort features. He likes the pad under his chin and the adjustable sizing. We measured his head at 53 cm so going off of the chart we ordered a small first, but when we received it and tried it on, it was just a bit too tight even with the adjustable sizing on the loosest setting. Fortunately exchanging for a bigger size with Backcountry is a breeze.

I tried on several helmets from multiple brands. To list a few: Smith maze and holt, as well as the Anon Striker and Raider. My head measurements come in just a bit above 59cm so in all cases I found that the large was too big and the small was too tight. I finally came across the K2 verdict and was very happy to discover the medium fit just right. I probably could have got by with the large but I had the back "fit system" on the smallest setting and it still fit a little big. In addition, I felt like this helmet had the most streamline design of an others I tried on. I always thought my old Hi Fi helmt made me look like Dark Helmet from Spaceballs. Over all I am happy with my purchase and I will come back to edit this review after my three day snowboarding trip in a few weeks.
