Forget about weight. The one or two ounces this harness adds is far out weighed by the comfort. The waist and leg loops are really wide and stiff, yet crazy thin. The stiffness caught me off guard at first, but now I hate climbing w/o it. It's a far different feel than other similar priced harness. Everything stays perfectly in place while working your hard redpoints. The gear loops are more than enough for any sport route and can handle a trad rack as well. I'm a edelrid convert
