It hasn't taken your youngin' very long to realize that the duds he's been wearing out on the hill aren't exactly up to his standards any longer. So get him booted out of pants limbo by hooking him up with the Burton Exile Boys' Insulated Cargo Pant.

Rocking fully loaded tech fit for smaller riders, the Exile's DryRide Durashell two-layer membrane gives your pint-sized ripper the protection he needs for a day out on the slopes, while the Thermacore insulation throughout keeps him warm on cold, snowy days. Inner thigh vents regulate heat on warmer days, while boot gaiters stop snow from creeping in, and there are plenty of pockets can stash snacks and smaller gear. Throw in an adjustable waist and a Room-To-Grow extendable leg system and Exile's good to go from November to May.

The fit wasn't even close. I ordered size small for my son who's a tall 7 year-old and falls w/in the height criteria. The pants are a good 3 inches too long.

I'm a Gearhead and get a fair number of questions from women looking at kid's ski pants, so this is just a quick review for the adults out there! :) I have issues finding women's pants that are short enough, and the mediums are perfect for me at 5'1. I also really like the waist adjustability; if you have issues with the waist gapping on pants, it helps a lot. The fit is more straight cut than tapered, so there's plenty of room if you have hips, but they don't feel super baggy to me. They also have all of the features you would expect from an adult's pair, like vents and tons of pockets. The outer fabric is maybe a little bit lighter weight than some of the extra-rugged adult pants, but I've only ever had issues with it soaking through when I was literally skiing in the rain; they hold up totally fine in snow. I'm also a big fan of the insulation weight - they're warm enough to wear with just a baselayer in any weather, but the vents make them super easy to open up if you start to overheat! Big thumbs up on these; I have couple different colors & I'm sure I'll go back for more soon.

I really like the way these look and fit but they did seem short for the size ordered. My son is 5’2” and the large was barely long enough. Exchanging for a larger size so they don’t look so short and maybe will work next year too.
