The Vision Helmet is Black Diamond's most durable foam helmet for climbing, and this Vision MIPS Helmet adds a Multi-directional Impact Protection System for an even greater level of safety. MIPS is a low-friction, slip-plane layer that rotates independently around your head to drastically reduce impacts off angled crashes, like when you smack the side of your head on the wall after a long fall. The Vision also has an updated design to the innovative hybrid construction that climbers have been enjoying for seasons. The polycarbonate shell covers a larger portion of the crown, and there's a layer of EPS foam underneath for added crown protection. EPP foam covers the rest of the helmet for multi-impact protection.

The helmet is pretty delicate. The top has a hard shell and the sides and back are foam. The back foam broke (cracked) in my bag before I could use it. Luckily I had my old helmet with me and used that one. Its super light but you are going to need to be pretty careful with the foam parts. They are not protected with plastic at all.
