We're used to seeing less Lycra in the woods, but for certain events, think cross-country racing, it certainly makes sense. Enter the Yeti Ironton Bib Short - Men's, which take the support of bibs and readies them for the singletrack. The short's nylon four-way stretch fabric sits next to skin allowing for a full range of motion while on the trail. No snagging the nose of your saddle and no baggie knees that lead to chafing. It's also more durable than your typical road bibs so if you take a spill, they're more apt to survive and fight another day. These shorts are also far better at managing moisture than baggies so it doesn't feel like your hauling around a full diaper on an endurance ride or race. If you're self-conscious, the Ironton can always sub in as a killer set of liner shorts.

It seems to me that manufacturers are cutting lots of corners with cycling shorts. These Yeti bibs are no exception unfortunately. 1st ride on them and the flimsy elastic grips on the legs don't do their job, as a consequence, as the legs on these shorts are not very long, I end up with hot pants instead of cycling shorts - I'm 6 ft, 165 lbs with a 33 inch inseam and got the L size. The chamois is nothing special either. I'd suggest to retailers to at least include the length of the legs for each size so we customers can have an idea of what the shorts are going to look like once we wear them. Meanwhile I'll keep searching for a nice pair of bibs at an affordable price...
