You shred the mountain from first chair to last, so naturally you appreciate the reliable performance of the Volcom Women's Species Stretch Pant. Constructed using Volcom's waterproof, breathable V-Science membrane, you'll be sure to stay dry from the inside out, even when big, wet flakes are falling. The stretchy twill material ensures you can stomp landings and carve the steeps unrestricted, and mesh-lined vents let you dump some of the warm air when things start heating up.

Just in case you don't want to wear a belt, the Species Pant boasts an inner waistband that's fully adjustable for a customized fit. Stretch boot gaiters work to keep snow out of your boots and pant legs, and Volcom's jacket-to-pant interface lets you attach them to your Volcom jacket when you're feeling keen to fully seal out the elements.

I like the fit of these pants, the stretch is nice and the pockets and vents are placed well. Would be better with a Gortex finish. I typically like baggier pants but these are tight around the knees but still wide enough to fit around your boot. I'm inbetween sizes but I settled on a medium.

The fit was good — I'm usually a size 6 in pants and the medium fit well-enough. A little loose around the waist but nothing a belt couldn't fix. The copper color was much greener in person, more like a dark mustard than the orange/brown color in the photo. Unfortunately the color really wasn't what I was going for, so I ended up returning them.

For reference I'm an athletic size 6/8 (JCrew Gap etc) Ordered these in a Medium, and fit was great, but the length of the rise/zipper is short so they were tough to get on, once they were on totally comfortable. I likely would have kept these, but they have inner thigh venting, which seemed odd, but the problem was the vent zippers rubbed together and made walking super weird. I'm a skier not a snowboarder and also old AF, so maybe this is just something I haven't encountered before? So if you're used to these inner thigh zippers I would say these are a great buy, really cute, Flattering and stretchy...I had ordered 4 pairs and another pair won out, these were in third place. Seemed warm too.

Here is the pic for the other pair that I have. This pair was purchased in 2016. The Moss color was 2017. 2017 pair does have the bottom popping issue. Hope in 2018, they can fix it and add some new bright colors to the collection.

I ski, in cold windy wet days, sometimes powder snow. I want to look fit and nice. Also want to be a bit stylish, and noticeable for safety reasons. Those pants meet all my needs. Fabric is very stretch, feel free to move inside of them. Always keep me warm and dry. And they do make my backside look better. I have three girlfriend bought 5 pairs after they saw me in them. BTW, I also have a matching jacket from the same product line which can be zipped up with the pants at the backside. It’s brilliant!!

I love Volcom pow pow gear. I have a 24" waist. I'm a fairly consist XS in Volcom pants. I got the black color. I love the style, fit, and details of these pants. It's a slim, flattering fit. I especially like the back pocket and back zipper combo. The inner zipper vents will be great for warm days. The optional zipper flare at the bottoms is a nice touch. Can't wait to shred in these new pow pow pants!

I wanted to love these pants. I really really tried, I paid 30$ extra in shipping to order the M and the S because the sizing is terrible! The smalls were just slight too small everything I move the button/clasp pops open. The medium were so big that I would take them off without unbuttoning the clasp or zipper. They are low rise too, so they dig into your stomach and make it hard and painful to move around, bend over and pretty much doing anything but walk around. I tried a belt that didn’t work, I think these could have work if they had the metal hook that a lot of winter gear uses but even then maybe not. Returning both pairs and genuinely upset that about the epic failure that was this winter gear shopping attempt.

Love the dark camo pattern but the rise is too low. I’m afraid if I actually wore these snowboarding I would just have snow down my pants. Had to return.

Bought the Winter Orchard color and it looks exactly like the color it shows on the website. Super stylish and very warm indeed. The knee to the ankle was a little wide for my personal preference but still love them. Very impressed with the waterproof and wind proof!
