One of the burliest messenger bags you'll ever come across, the Topo Designs Messenger Bag is constructed with a truck tarp liner, waterproof zippers, and a top flap to keep all of your gear well-protected from the elements. A robust 1000D nylon construction withstands crowded city sidewalks and rough bike commutes, while the truck tarp liner helps keep moisture at bay. The dual closure system with g-hooks and hook-and-loop material at the top flap secures all of the bag's contents, and the bottom compression straps cinch down to keep the carry stable. Among the many pockets, a padded laptop sleeve safely carries your computer (up to 15-inches), while the padded, removable, and adjustable shoulder strap hepls you customize your comfort level.

Solid construction, super durable, and I love the aesthetic, which is why I got it. However, as another reviewer noted, there are a few design flaws that are really frustrating to deal with. 1. Flap design - the sides of the flaps are slightly tapered/attached, which means you can't one-handedly flip the flap up to quickly access anything in the bag. Instead, you have to set your bag down and force the flap up with both hands. Frustrating for a biker on the go. 2. Strap design - When I walk >1/2 mile with this bag on, the strap gradually loosens to the point where the bag is falling off my shoulders. I've figured out a work around by knotting and double looping the strap, but this shouldn't happen. Also, I misread the description before purchasing and thought the huge strap pad was removable. It isn't--too bad. I'm considering purchasing some seatbelt material and making my own strap. I really like the waterproof lining, pocket placement, interior water bottle loops, and colors, but after a few months of trying it out, this bag is gathering dust and I've gone back to using my ratty old Timbuk2 until I figure out a solution to problem #1, above.

(this is Tyson's wife) I got this as a birthday gift and I absolutely love it. It's perfect for my commute to work and super comfortable. I originally got the red color but it was just a bit too bright for me, so I went with the green instead and couldn't be happier.

One is the flap design, and the second is the strap that doesn't swivel. other than that, the bag is perfect.
