Don't miss out on blower powder because it's face-stingingly cold outside. The Underballa Balaclava from The North Face is the headwear you want when the mercury is threatening to drop out the bottom of the thermometer. The polyester and elastane is plenty warm and won't freeze up as you sweat during the day. It's thin enough to fit comfortably under most helmets, and the hinged style can be pulled down to facilitate cracking a frosty cold one on the lift.

This is great for a helmet and the design keeps the layers from sliding around and shifting while you ride.

Balaclavas are hard to shop for because sometimes they feel suffocating or too thick. This is the perfect thickness with the right amount of slack in the face and neck without being loose around the head where it needs to stay in place. Super happy with this.

Comfortable, kept my head and neck warm. Neck should be a bit longer but still a solid purchase!

Love this balaclava it is lightweight with thermal stretch fleece that provides added comfort while offering enough space for clear visibility. The best part though is the hinged construction which allows you to easily pull down to talk or stuff your face with goodies! It's everything you want in a balaclava.

My hands and face are the coldest part of my body. Bought this and a pair of NF gloves and now feel really warm in them while running in Michigan's winter winds. Highly recommend for even regular use.

Very warm balaclava. Smaller sizes can restrict your head after awhile causing a headache(got a M first time, then got a L/XL instead). lOve the funtionality of it, easy to pull down and up and keep the back from sliding down. A+

Great product. Versatile and multiple ways to use it. As a simple neck gaiter, it does the job and doesn't bunch up. When using the full balaclava the skull cap fits well under my ski helmet with no hot spots and provides another layer of warmth on cold days. The face cover is good but not suited to single-digit temperature days (you'd want a thicker, cold weather face mask).

I've never used this style of balaclava. I've only had a one-piece fleece prior to this, but the thin cap is pretty comfy and doesn't interfere with your helmet/beanie. Not a bad buy

This balaclava is thin enough to wear under a helmet, but it's fleece lined making it great for really cold days. If you like to wear a mask most days, might want a more breathable option. I got a S/M and it's a little bit snug.

Really love this balaclava. Color isn't really a concern for me and I could see how some people might not like the color but the fit is spot on - not constricting and light enough to wear a hat on top if it.

One of my favorite times of the year is here. I love going with my husband hunting. We take at least one trip a year out of state and travel West to Colorado or Idaho. We went hunting this past Sunday and it was windy and I was telling my husband I needed something over my ears. I work in the facility in Christiansburg VA. On Monday I was putting away the The North Face Underballa Balaclava, it was just the right color green and said to myself, "Oh that would AWESOME to have!' It's blend good with my camo and keep my ears and face warm. I purchased it as soon as I got home. Today when I got home from work I decided to give it a try and went hunting. What a difference it made! I absolutely love it! I will be purchasing another one or 2 soon.

Great any day use balaclava(cold winter to sunny spring ski days). Favorite function of this is the hinged lower section allowing for easy adjustment while still being comfortable when lowered.

I bought this balaclava for both my nephews who just started to ski. They love the fit and feel of it. and it keeps them super warm in the cold east coast temps. The hinged construction allows them to pull the bottom portion off their face easily if they want to expose their mouths or talk, which they love.
