It's hard to match the freedom of hitting your favorite run through secret powder fields in deep snow. The North Face Freedom Pant enables you to seek out the fresh stashes in comfort. Its lightweight, waterproof, and breathable DryVent membrane will keep you protected when snow is falling and when you're falling in the snow. StretchVent gaiters at the leg openings prevent snow from sneaking in the bottom when you're hitting your reliable powder stash, and they also work with the inner thigh vents to trap heat so it rises up and out for a more effective venting system. The Freedom has also been updated with a more articulated fit, giving you easier and more fluid movement for bump runs and tight tree lines. With secure pockets for easy storage of maps and snacks, and a price point that won't break the bank, this pant will keep you feeling free all season long.

I'm 5'9, 160 lbs, size 32 waist and the Medium is huge on me everywhere. Otherwise they seem like like great pants, but bummed about the sizing.

The last pair I had lasted 10 seasons! The new pair is exactly the same. I love when they don't change a design and feel that works. I'll keep buying these.

Picked these pants up a few months ago and have been loving them. I've worn these on a few 40 degree Midwest days where the "snow" at the resort is just soupy slush and these pants have kept me dry the whole day. Great venting, not too tight not too baggy. As a snowboarder these pants give me all the range of motion I need. For the price you cant beat these. Simply put, they get the job done.

Bought a forest green one and did not replicate the color very well. The pic said that it faded into clack on the bottom and the color on the top was true throughout the entire pants. Have yet to try them but they are just another pair of sweatpants by the looks of them.

Great pants for the money this is my 3rd pair. Waterproof, warm, and breathable. True to size. I'm not tall but have large lower half. Fits great and are adjustable.

The thigh zippers came in real handy on a couple steep approaches when iceclimbing. Great coverage, durable, and most important, truly waterproof. Used these bad boys on several multi pitch ice climbs with walk offs through waist deep snow and stayed dry. Only thing that would improve them is if they had little clips to keep the gaiters attached to your boot laces when you end up punching through snow all the way to your crotch.

Second time purchasing these pants. Mtn Employee here. Wore these pants everyday in all conditions at Mammoth Mtn. After about 136 strait days of abuse i had to patch one of my knees haha. I like to order mine a little larger than i need in case i want to double up on my base layers. So comfortable that i find myself hanging out around the house in them as well.

I initially bought TNF Freedom bibs in a size med short. I'm 5'9" and a 155lbs with a 32" waist. The fit in the legs was great but the waist was way too tight. Backcountry was great with the return policy. Based on reviews and the sizing chart, I thought the freedom pants would be a better fit. Well, TNF made up for the tight waist and then some. Even with the waist tabs fully cinched up, I could barely keep the pants from falling off. TNF sizing is hard to get a handle on. The rest of the product looks to be great with nice features and good quality construction. I can't say enough good things about how Backcountry works with its customers. They were pleasant and efficient in all my transactions.

My other pair of North Face pants just wore out, took about a decade. So, when the time came, I definitely bought from North Face again! Consistent quality and sizing.

She's a Women's size 12-14, and very happy that she got men's pants. They fit comfortably, as they're not too snug. The vents on the inner legs are convenient, and plenty of pockets with zippers.

Bought these with the intention of taking them to Iceland to go Snowmobiling and hiking. First and only test so far was hiking in 39° F cloudy weather through fresh snow. No snow got in thanks to the built in loose gaiters and my legs stayed perfectly warm and dry even with only a pair of exercise shorts on underneath. Looking forward to trying them out in the wind .So far very happy with my purchase. Seem durable and made well too.

These pants have been great in every way except durability. The patches on the ankles are already tearing and my previous pair did the same thing. It becomes an issue when skiing in powder as they fill up with snow and get heavy. If they could make that part of the pants more durable they would be perfect.

The pants work as expected. These are a 4 instead of a 5 because the front cargo pocket extends too close to the knee, and the upper pockets are not deep enough. Both are minor criticisms. I also wish the lower cuffs were equipped with a velcro closure to secure around the boot. The bottom cuff gets caught on my boot's forward lean / touring mode lockout. The positives are that the material is better than expected and they fit very well. In addition they are a good value.

A lot of people are saying the same thing about this product...for the money, it's a good pant. I had these a while ago and beat them up pretty good. I'm ordering this pair to use while volunteering at the mountain. I'd love to know why more pants don't have more pockets?? I carry around a lot of crap when I'm volunteering...trail maps, stickers, etc. I love having places to put all that stuff. Also, I'm 6'2"...so having a "long" option is great.

Dad needed new pants while visiting me on a ski trip, and didn't want to drop a dime on them. Got these because they're reasonably priced and low-key style, and they fit well and kept him dry the whole time. Great utility ski pant.

I usually try to stick to higher end outerwear from ski/snowboard specific brands, but I purchased these for an emergency trip thinking I would only use them for a few days. I was really impressed with their construction. The fabric is the thicker matte fabric I like and the heel reinforcement was thicker than some of my other "more expensive" pants as well. These are more of a loose fit (snowboard style, but not baggy by any means). Nothing beats Gore-Tex, but at more than 1/2 the price of a upper end pant overall I was super impressed. If you run cold, I would recommend getting them in the insulated version instead. In my opinion, these pants will work great for 95% of days anyone is skiing/riding at a resort.

These pants have kept me warm and dry on on bad days and I haven't been overheated on the cold days. My voile knee pads fit under them with no problems. Great pants
