Built with the hardcore angler in mind, the Temple Fork Outfitters Mangrove Series 4-Piece Fly Rod provides you with a fast-action fly rod for both salt and freshwater fly fishing. Developed from first-hand fishing experience (as opposed to sitting inside working on a drawing board), the Mangrove is a rod that you can actually feel when you cast from the shoreline. As a result, you're able to close the deal and shoot your fly straight into the fish's area of awareness.

The Mangrove utilizes TFO's proprietary TiCr blank coating to help protect the rod from the occasional collision with a weighted fly. TFO's tactical guides feature super hard-chrome anodized, stainless steel inserts pressed into a machined, hard-anodized stainless steel frame for extreme durability in both fresh and saltwater. Its gorgeous non-glare chestnut-colored blank features a full wells grip with an instant rod weight burled cork ID system, fighting butts, and cleverly machined hook keeps on each side of the aluminum up-locking reel seat.

I bought this rod for a trip to Nevada to catch some monster cutthroat! Was a little overkill for what I hooked in to but was necessary if i were to hook up to some of the potential monsters. I have also used it catching some large-mouth bass and am eager to take it for some salt water flats fishing. Casts a floating line incredibly but the softer tip is not as well suited for casting really heavy sink tips and picking them up off the water. (Don't get me wrong though, it still castes them really well) All in all, it is tough to find another rod that performs as well as this one, at this price!

My husband took this rod to the Bahamas and he thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a fairly fast action rod with a good amount of lifting power. Not as light weight as hoped but it is durable.

My first "heavy " rod, performed as I'd hoped it would on some bigger warm water beasts. Gave me the confidence to fight larger fish and get them landed in a timely manner
