Born in Durango, Co, Tailwind Nutrition began life with a simple goal: to cover fuel, hydration, and electrolyte needs in a single, mild-tasting drink that won't turn your stomach into a brick or leave you trying to choke down a sticky gel or unwieldy chews during a six-hour epic. The Caffeinated Endurance Fuel pushes that mission a step further, adding 35mg of caffeine per scoop in order to provide a little extra pep to your long-distance step. Despite that addition, it's still as hydration pack and bottle friendly as the original, so you can just rinse your bottle or bladder with no funky aftertaste or smell.

Not all stomachs can handle the sticky sweetness or hard-to-digest molecules found in most nutrition products. Sipping Tailwind provides steady, small doses of fuel that pass right through the stomach. The composition of Tailwind’s fuel matches what the gut is made to absorb, so Tailwind enters your system quickly, without taxing the digestive tract. No surprise, then, that it includes only all-natural ingredients and organic flavors, which is part of the reason it mixes crystal clear and tastes light and clean. The result is an easy-drinking solution that eliminates the need to rely on spreadsheets to keep track of your calories, electrolytes, and hydration—just add Tailwind to water and go.

Please note that Tailwind Nutrition recommends limiting continuous use of the Caffeinated Endurance Fuel to six hours.

I am using exclusively Tailwind for more than 18 months now. It is easy to mix, it does not leave anything sticky in the bottles, it tastes good (light taste), it is super easy on the guts. I use it for training and for races 50km,50M,100km. Great product I would highly recommend to anyone. Go with Naked for races (End of them) and green tea for caffeine and lemon for regular. Did not try others.

I used this during a 24 hour race. Towards the end, this was one of the few things that my stomach could handle. It seems like they advertise this as a single source for fueling. I would debate that but it is an excellent drink mix.

I've always had problems getting in enough calories on longer rides, I just can't digest solids well when doing higher efforts. I started using the tailwinds a few weeks before an IM 70.3 and then used during the race. I PR'd by 23 minutes and actually felt fine after, better than I ever have. I swear by this stuff now. If you need your nutrition through liquids like me this is the stuff.

This is my dad's go-to when he needs a caffeinated fuel for his races. If you are looking for a non-caffeinated then Tailwind makes that as well that is normally sold here! He has this to share regarding Tailwind Fuel: I am a huge fan of Tailwind. I am an endurance athlete. I have struggled with endurance related stomach problems for years. Last year I competed in "Leadman" in all 5 of the Leadville race events. I was terrified about potential stomach problems going into the first race. I studied every nutritional gimmick in the book before stumbling into a promotional booth show casing "another gimmick" called Tailwind. I listened to the pitch - it sounded really good. However, I wasn't enough for me, so I emailed their contact us link on their website. What I got was a really satisfying , several email back and and forth with their staff nutritionist. All my questions were answered and I decided to give it a try. Tailwind has SOLVED my stomach problems. I completed the Leadville races and was able to do so without ever having eaten a single solid - all liquid, all Tailwind. I am a big believer.

I have been searching for the perfect maintenance nutrition for the last 5 years. I've tried everything, from honey to gels to waffles to Vitargo. Not until Tailwind have I found something that truly works. It is easy to mix, easy to carry, tastes great and easy on the guts. It provides excellent, sustained energy. I can head out for multi-hour runs in the mountains and never bonk. Just mix 2 scoops per 20oz bottle and sip as you go. I will occasionally carry a plain water bottle just to add variety to the pallet, but don't need to. Do yourself a favor and try it out!

I just recently started using Tailwind for Triathlon training and I'm never going back! It makes staying on top of hydration and nutrition intake during long brick workouts a breeze. The taste is great and it mixes well. Doesn't have a ton of sugar compared to sports drinks which can cause distress. Definitely worth trying!

I like to backpack and do 12-18 mile hikes in a day, but I hate eating solid foods while I hike. I was looking for an alternative and came across tailwind in backpacker mag. I got the tropical flavor and I love it! It tastes great and keeps me going on those long treks. I just put some in a small water bottle and sip on that as well as my camelback. I'm usually sensitive to caffeinated drinks, but this doesn't make my stomach hurt. *I am also gluten intolerant*
