When you've finally decided to stop settling for uncomfortable and stifling helmets that make for sub-par ski days, strap on the Smith Vantage Helmet and experience comfortable protection like never before. Its innovative Hybrid SL shell construction combines Smith's bombshell ABS material along the top of the helmet, along with a flyweight In-Mold technology around the sides, so you get the perfect fit without sacrificing defense. Aerocore Technology covers your dome with four Koroyd inserts, which absorb a high level of energy on impact, while allowing air to pass through as you ride. The AirEvac 2 Ventilation system provides constant airflow by moving cool air through external vents below the brim and pushing warm air out of the 21 vents across the top of your helmet. If you start to get too cold, you can close the vents with the dual regulator at the top of the helmet that's easy to adjust, even with gloves on.

The Vantage provides a superior fit with its adjustable Boa FS360 Fit System, which has a full 360-degree halo design that offers both forward and lateral adjustments. The helmet's Nanosilver performance lining has odor-resistant features that keep the helmet smelling fresh after back-to-back days on the hill. Snapfit SL2 Ear Pads seal around your ears for reliable warmth on cold and stormy days, but can be removed once things heat up or if you prefer to layer a beanie beneath your helmet.

My old Smith Vantage was a large and fit great. Many years of wear and time to get a new one. Most reviews said it runs small and, when I measured my head, I fell right in the middle of the large size. Arrived quickly and tried it on. Not gonna fit in any way. Returned for an XL and fits great. Believe the reviews and size up one.

I compared this XL side by side with the Smith Mission XL and did a double take - I thought I had mistakenly bought the large instead. I really don’t get how the sizing could be so different within the brand. Otherwise seems like a good helmet - I do agree it sits higher than I expected. Also I was expecting removable ear pads and they definitely are not removable! It’s the whole reason I upgraded from the Mission helmet...bad description.

I should have listened to the other reviews. My head measures 57 cm - dead in the middle of the Medium. I also have owned a Smith Helmet (Variant Brim) that was a Medium and fit perfect. So I ordered a Medium and it is way too tight. Pretty bummed because I loved the helmet otherwise, it was noticeability lighter and had a much smaller profile. And now Backcountry is sold out of Larges in the color I wanted. Really wish Smith was more accurate with their sizing.

I measured my big head and followed the sizing recommendations and the medium helmet was way way to tight. So back it goes and I pay the return shipping :( Also the red/orange helmet is kinda of neither.

This is an awesome helmet for looks and comfort. The size does seem to run a little small. My head measured 22.5” which was a medium on the chart but it was definitely to small and I had to return it for a large.

This helmet works great fits great is pretty light. But the matte red rock color option is no where near the what the picture is I originally thought they sent me an orange helmet cause the colors are so different.

This is a generally comfortable helmet. Ventilation options is phenomenal. My biggest complaint is that mine sits high on my head, leaving a sweet gaper gap. I wear a hood under my helmet for neck and head warmth so that certainly raises the helmet. All said, I am a little surprised with the gap considering I wear smith I/O 7's with it. Perhaps I just have a big forehead...!?

I measured and ordered per Smith's suggested size and helmet is too tight. In addition, I also felt a couple of additional pressure points on my head. There are other reviews complaining of the same thing so Smith or Backcountry should revise the sizing. As it is, backcountry and the buyer wasted money and contribute even more to the carbon footprint. The helmet itself is well made but there is hardly any insulation. This would've been my first ski helmet so I don't know how the rest are insulated but insulation on the Smith is minimal.

This has a perfect fit, and love the dial in the back for tightening. I've resisted getting a ski helmet until now as they all pinched my head and hurt. This one didn't! Now I just need it to snow more so I can use it more often! take 20% off coupons from coupon-code.info

I bought this helmet in 2011. It fit great, looked great, had vents that could easily be opened and shut with gloves on. After 5 years of using the helmet only 1 week a year of skiing out West with no major crashes, the top exterior piece of the helmet separated from the foam helmet cage inside. Only thing I can think is that this happened from air travel while in a boot bag. More frustrating than that, the helmet surface suddenly developed a very sticky film. Almost like the sealant or rubberized surface is falling apart. It does not come off with hot water, windex, soap and water, Dawn and water. It does come off on your skin when you touch it. Very frustrating. The interior of the helmet is in perfect condition. The outside (minus the tacky surface) is in good condition. I wish I could have gotten more use out of it for the price I paid. I just switched to Pret for similar fit, cheaper cost, and hopefully equal to or greater than durability.

Love this helmet. Super comfortable and kept me warm in up to -9 degrees. Only con is that the little buckle holding my ski goggles broke at first use.

My whole family is pretty die-hard Smith and my Dad was long overdue for a new helmet! He works all day on the Mountain and this Vantage paired with the Smith Io/Mag's are great and serving him well! He is beyond stoked I have the women's version as well and wouldn't wear anything else!

I love the way this helmet works, but how it looks leaves something to be desired. The venting is green, which isn't very pretty, but you have a lot of control over how you can vent them. Also, the vent holes are a little ugly. But! It keeps my ears warm (and comfortable) and my head safe (and warm or cool, depending on what I want), so I'm not complaining that much. Also, it keeps my ears nice and warm (: I got a second for my family's ski place.

I have had several versions of this helmet and have loved all of them. They just keep getting better each year. The venting is amazing and the fit with a pair of smith goggles is seamless. I gave this one as a gift as it really is my favorite helmet.

I bought this as a gift for a guy who's been my skiing partner for as long as I've been skiing... because it keeps the inside of your brain on the inside of your head. He says it fits great, is comfortable and most importantly it will allow us to keep skiing together even if he unexpectedly goes head first into a stump. People never used to ski with helmets... but now, you rarely see a skier without one. This is a good trend in the ski industry. If you haven't embraced this yet... now's the time. Accidents... true accidents happen. Live well to ski another day!

This is the best ski helmet I have owned. It fits wonderfully and has fine adjustments to really make the fit perfect. The dual vents give some flexibility in the helmet that some other models really lack. Totally worth it!

Great helmet with many usable features--may be adjusted to fit larger head size, adjustable vents, warm ear pieces and more. Good investment for your noggin.
