I generally buy one of these printed 1/4 zip shirts every year. They're warm, breathable, and they wash well. I'm taking 2 stars off because this year the prints are so bad that I won't be purchasing.

Absolutely love this top from Smartwool, from the retro vibe (I got the peacock margarita) to the feel and the fit, everything is right. I've probably worn this every week-end since I got it and there's no piling or stretching, plus no itching, which I find amazing as it's very hard to find when it comes to merino and is a problem for me with other brands. Would definitely recommend.

Review from Keri Schneider: I love this top. It has a nice slim fit without being too snug and the wool is soft and not itchy at all. Fit: true to size. Iā€™m a S, 125lbs, 5ā€™7ā€

This is my first merino wool baselayer so I don't have anything to compare it to. I got the Winter White Donegal color and I like it, and it is not see through. I ordered a medium so that it wouldn't be too snug on my torso, and I am happy with that aspect of the fit (not too tight, not too loose). The shirt is very, very long however. When I pull it down to its full length, it goes to the bottom of my butt. So, I wear it tucked in as a base layer but can't really wear it as a normal shirt as I had hoped I could. I wore the shirt this weekend for an outdoor ultimate frisbee tournament (layered under a heavy sweatshirt and a down coat) and was fairly comfortable (occasionally chilly) in mid 30 degree weather with 15 mph wind.

Wore this as a baselayer during a backpacking trip where temps got down to the 20s at night and it kept me warm! I ordered a small, which was slightly large on me. I love the color/pattern (purple mist).

I find this to be a little bit on the itchy side when I first put it on but it seems to get less itchy once I start working up a bit of a sweat. Does a good job of keeping you warm and wicking away moisture. SIZE UP.

This is so soft, warm and comfy. Haven't used it for skiing yet (wishing for snow) but it is so cute that I have just been wearing it as an everyday sweater. Will definitely be ordering this in more colors.

Got this on sale, it is so nice and soft, ordered another one. I bought a large and it fits close, without being snug. I am 5 7 and 135 lbs. Normally wear a med but didn't want it to fit close as I had tried it on in a store and med felt too snug. Have been using the socks which are fabulous.

I am ALWAYS cold and, consequently, being outdoors in the Utah winter makes me miserable. But no longer do I need to have a face like grumpy cat thanks to this shirt! This top is brilliant and durable too. I've worn it on cold nights camping, out trail-running in the snow and up on the slopes. It really does help keep my core nice and toasty. I bought a small and could probably have even gone an XS. I will be buying more Smartwool for sure!

SmartWool products always have a place in my heart, and I wanted to share that same joy with the people I care about. Bought this as a gift for an always cold snowboarder, and this changed her desire to get out on the mountain entirely. Fearing the cold can put a downer on anyone's day, but with the right gear, fear not! Fits very snug to keep the warmth in, but allows for nice ventilation even on some warmer days. I have personally used several SmartWool items for many years, and found them to be some of the best constructed, and most effective base layers on the market.

I love the quality and feel of SmartWool socks and was ready to try a base layer. I am 5'4" and 114 lbs. I like a close fit but not so tight that every bulge is exposed. I found the medium as uncomfortably tight around my bulges as the small, almost like they were the exact same. The large was simply too large. Weird.

Bought this to go ski. First off, let me tell you that I am an absolute punk about being cold. I hate it! I also hate sweating lol . This shirt fit without being tight, kept me warm when I was standing still in the freezing cold (-2 degrees) and kept my temperature regulated and my body dry when I was active. It is expensive, but if it holds up to my wearing it over the next few months, I would def buy again at the same price.

I LOVE this shirt. Its super warm and soft. I know its pricey - but totally worth it. I'm 5"2, 118 - got a size small and it fits great.

I discovered these Smartwool Midweight Pattern Crews at the beginning of this winter, and they have changed my life. I am always cold and always wear layers, polar fleece, etc. This shirt is so thin and soft and moves with you and the patterns are pretty. I wear it with a thin turtleneck underneath. I like the look, the style, and most of all how something this light can keep me so very warm. The shirt is a bit pricey but well worth it. Yes, you should buy this shirt. I feel like an evangelist, but I really do love these shirts. Thanks, Smartwool!

It's soft! It's warm! It's breathable! It's not restricting! Plus, the patterned design puts it a step above boring, old long-underwear. I wear it as a top whenever there is a cold, wet nip in the air. I wear it as a base-layer whenever I'm on a winter outdoor-adventure. Simply, the best. I ordered a medium for my 5'-8", 140lb., broad-shouldered body. Fits great. The neck comes in slightly more than I'd like, but helps for warmth. The shirt construction at the shoulder seams isn't a problem for board shoulders!
