I have many pairs of smart wool bottoms. First they changed the sizing and a small was too big and the extra small was a little tight. I weight 125 and am 5'2''. This year's selection fit absolutely weird like they're shaped for women who need extra room in the front for fat? Not flattering. Then the pattern bottoms went from classic patterns to simply awful designs--no houndstooth or other classic designs--almost like designs from gymboree or something. These were always a product that I would machine wash and hang dry but now with the ugly styles and weird fit, I am not likely to buy them anymore. Really disappointing.

Comfortable and slim fit. Easy to layer and stays comfortable. Nice fit. Gifted this to a family member and she's very happy with the fit at the waist.

These are fantastic. Very cozy. Be aware, the waistband runs a bit small. I normally wear a size small, but I had to size up to a medium for these to fit comfortably. They are perfect under snow pants.

These Smartwool Bottoms are super soft and warm. They are perfect to wear under your ski/snowboard pants. You honestly can't go wrong with Smartwool and I would highly recommend these if you want to stay warm on those chilly winter days.

These are great long johns! They are super soft, comfortable and kept me warm. The length is great, might be a bit on the shorter side for us tall ladies but I don't mind that with long underwear.

Super soft and comfortable, though not as form-fitting as one might hope for an under-layer. I think I will probably use these as pajama bottoms or for loungin' around the house.

I love these long underwear bottoms. They are soft, comfortable and fit nicely under all my clothes. I use them for hiking, snowshoeing and for casual wear in the winter under normal pants (jeans, cords, etc.). They are very breathable and wick moisture well, even when I'm exercising hard. They also don't seem to get stinky, even after several days of almost continuous use. I like the wide elastic waistband, too, it seems to help keep them in place. the seams don't seem to rub or irritate my skin either, which has been an issue with other long underwear I've used in the past. I really love these bottoms and basically live in them during the winter, and when it's colder in the spring and fall.

Loves these right out of the package, they are soft, cute and true to size, but they lost their shape after one wear. Now they look like baggy thin sweats, and when I try to put a layer over them they roll/bunch up into the outer layer. Will be returning.

This is not my wife's first pair of Smartwool tights. She love's 'em. Not itchy and a great fit. They've been used for biking, hiking and running. When the snow flies they'll be used for that too.

Wow. I bought these for my wife. Out of the package, she loved them. Super soft and comfortable. She wore them TWICE. To sleep in. Now they have holes in the knees. Three or four holes in both thighs. They look like they're 5 years old. Not sure if we got a bad pair or what, but I won't be spending this kind of money on these again.

Unfortunately as is often the case with wool leggings, the rise in the front and the back is cut the same, so if you have any amount of junk in the trunk, these are going to be too low in the back to be comfortable. If there were more stretch to the material, I could have made them work, but sadly I have to return them. Too bad...I adore the houndstooth pattern, but not enough to expose my butt crack.

I was seriously impressed with how soft and comfortable the fabric felt (black pattern). The wide waist band has structure to it, but doesn't cut you into sausage links. It's quite flattering.

I purchased these as a stylish alternative to freezing during the winter. I've purchased Smartwool bottoms before and loved them, but I always felt the waistband problematic. These have been improved from the original and utilize a nice, thick, comfortable waistband that doesn't cut you in half beneath dresses or tunics. They stretch a bit over time, but go right back to their shape with a wash.

I was delighted to arrive home to this package of woolly goodness right before setting out on a 4 day ski touring trip at a backcountry skiing lodge in British Columbia. These long underwear were the talk of the lodge; I received many compliments and envious looks from fellow lodge guests. Beyond the flattery, these bottoms are unbelievably soft, and the waist band is extremely comfortable. They kept my legs happily toasty (but not too toasty!) without feeling damp or sweaty under my shell while touring. I am 5'10", 145 lbs, and the medium hits at my ankle bone.
