The Simms Men's Big Sky Long-Sleeve Shirt offers you big western style, big performance, and superb comfort while you cast, fish, float, or relax on the restaurant's deck with a cold drink in hand. The vented, mesh-lined back panel wicks moisture and promotes airflow, and also has a UPF 30 sun protection rating. The fabric dries quickly as well, so you don't have to worry about wading a little deeper or splashing yourself as you reel in a big one. Its traditional fit and classic western styling offer a timeless look both on and off the river, giving you a comfortable everyday shirt. An internal pocket stashes your fly fishing license, one chest pocket houses your sunglasses, and another has an accessory loop for gear.

Fly fishers know Simms products are typically solid. But the details make this shirt great for travel (no cotton, wash in sink and it will dry fast) or any pursuits in the sun. The stand up collar gives a little more neck protection from the sun and the sleeve is a little extended on the top fo the hand for a little added sun protection there too. The squared off hem is long enough for tucking in a shirt or about the right length to leave untucked without looking unruly.

I put this shirt through the wringer at the Grand Canyon when I hiked Rim to Rim. Initially, I bought this shirt to wear as an extra layer in the morning (low 40s) and for some sun protection middle of the day (if needed). I wore a 150 gram merino wool t-shirt under the Simms Big Sky and was quite comfortable all morning. I stuffed in into my daypack after lunch and hiked in a t-shirt till around 3pm. On the ascent, I could feel the back of my arms burning (it was mid to high 90s). I stopped and pulled off the t-shirt and put on the Big Sky long sleeve shirt. It literally felt like putting on an air conditioner. I was sweating pretty good but the shirt quickly and efficiently pulled the moisture off my body and the shirt dried quickly. My arms felt almost cool and my core was very comfortable. This is a great looking and well made shirt. It also preforms in full sun as advertised. The western styling is a nice touch on a technical shirt.

My dad is an avid fly fisherman with trips to Canada, Belize, and Chile in his past. We gave it to him for Christmas, here is his feedback: "This shirt lives up to the standard Simms has set for quality, style and comfort. I received it as a gift and totally intended to use it just as a fishing shirt. However, it was so comfortable and stylish that I find .myself wearing it for everyday use, including work. I can hardly wait to wear it on the river once the ice breaks. The fit is perfect for me, a large torso and average length arms. I love the quick snaps too!" He is 5'9 and 195 lbs- the large works great.

This is a great looking shirt. The feel of the fabric is amazing. It was a little baggier then I had expected. The over all length and arm length are good. Just a littler loose in the belly.. Maybe a large would do me better. Love the quick snaps and the breath ability it has. Im sure I will put many days on the water in it.

Simms coming through with top of the line fishing gear, yet again! I have a handful of various fishing shirts and this one has become my go-to lately. The snap buttons (which should be standard on all button downs like this IMO), mesh in the back, perfect cut and protection from the sun and bugs makes this the best fishing out there. Had a solid chance to break in this shirt over the weekend and from the high temps during the mid day to evening fishing at night, it performed perfectly in all situations. Hit me up if you have any questions on sizing or any other fishing gear you've been eyeing up to take your fishing obsession to the next level.

I purchased the Simms Big Sky shirt for my brother who is an avid fly fisher for his birthday. The fabric has a great feel, it's breathable and lightweight, a good piece for keeping the sun off of you. It looks like it fit him well, but as it was a gift I don't have the total low down on durability.
