Convincing steelhead to hit your fly usually means you have to find the perfect depth and speed you swing the fly, and doing so requires a variety of sink tips to fine tune the depth your fly is at. Scientific Anglers' TC Textured Tip Kit allows you to do so while implementing a tapered design with dual-density sinking tips that will help put your fly right on the nose of wild steelhead and salmon.

Full Reviews
Prior review is indeed correct--you're getting a full set of tips in a wallet. Makes the price of entry much more palatable. I've also got a comparable set of Rio tips and my limited time to compare--not sure I can tell the difference but on paper, the density compensate design of these theoretcially should help prevent the 'hinging' effect you can sometime get. Good stuff and well packaged and organized when getting to the river.

I'm not much of a reviews guy, but I'd be remiss if I didn't leave one here as this is perhaps the best purchases I've made in a while. Why? I thought I was just getting like ... ONE sink tip. Instead, I got 5, with a combination of sinking, intermediate, and floating tips, all at the specified length and grain weight (which, I'll add, are printed on the tip along with IPS rate, which makes 'recognizing' your rigging far easier than the traditional sharpie approach). Also, instead of the flimsy plastic packaging seen on versileaders, etc. (like what's depicted on the listing above), these tips came in a canvas/mesh wallet that's small enough to fit within a chest pocket or flip-over pouch on your waders, but large enough to accommodate a spare shooting head (either my TC Skagit or OPST Commando head fit just fine; I've included a screenshot). The wallet is also dope because the mesh allows the tips to dry fairly easily. The textured tips shoot super nicely, they grip the surface of the water just right, and the welded loops make switching leaders/tips/heads a breeze. Finally, SA really knows what they're doing ... right off the bat, I know that these are quality products, and if I ever have a problem with them, the folks at SA will help me out. Seriously, SA, great job.
