Designed to handle any terrain in any condition, the Salomon Women's X Ultra 3 GTX Hiking Shoe helps you get out and stay out. Gore-Tex's Performance Comfort membrane guarantees waterproof, breathable protection for year-round climates, and the SensiFit upper cradles your foot for a stable, precise, and snug fit. An OrthoLite sockliner and two layers of EVA give plenty of cush for days spent maneuvering over rock-strewn trails. Underfoot, the X Ultra 3 GTX features Salomon's Advanced Chassis midsole for the stability, foot control, and protection necessary to handle harrowing descents. Then, a protective rubber toe cap protects your foot from rocks, while the mud guard keeps the boot clean after wet-weather excursions. Rounding things out, a non-marking ContaGrip rubber helps the sole stick to just about any surface that you'll find outside.

These shoes constantly slide in the heel, even though they fit otherwise. It’s also difficult to get the right fit with the quick lace system. Seems like a good shoe otherwise, but will be returning.

Wow, do these shoes really help with stability and grip!! I hiked 2 11-mile hikes in these and never slipped once. They were great for steep uphills and also really helped keep my balance and footing on the steep downhills. I was actually quite blown away by how secure I felt in each step of the way. I like how they don’t feel heavy or clunky either. I feel very confident in these shoes on rocks and any kind of slippery surface. They were generally comfortable but I did get some blisters. I think I just need to wear them more and continue to break them in on more hikes. The size felt true to size for me. I did NOT know there is a tiny flap on the tongue to put the laces in once you tie up. I did both my hikes with the laces tucked into the bottom lace, lol!! No wonder I was annoyed. Don’t forget to use the little lace pocket :-)

I’ve had hiking boots before but wanted something less bulky and easier to pack. This shoe is lightweight, was easy to break in, and was comfortable on long and short hikes. I like the blue & lime colors too.

I have never been any other size than a 7.5. These are constantly sliding off my feet so I have to really tighten them down which then hurts the top of my foot. The arch support is in the wrong place so they are too painful to wear for even light walking. I’m very very disappointed. I read other reviews and it said they ran small, but not for me. My toes don’t even touch the front part of the shoe. I tried to break them in, but they just hurt more and more every time I wear them due to the arch being in the wrong spot since they are way too big. It’s too late to return them. My boyfriend loves his. I guess they are only good for the men’s. This was my first backcountry purchase. I’m not sure I will be purchasing anything else now.

This would make my third pair of Solomon’s and I’m consistently a 7 in my other shoes. These are very tight around the whole foot. Toes feel squished and the heel support digs into the back of my heel. I would definitely size up a half or full size in this shoe. I only put one shoe on and didn’t even bother trying the other, it was that uncomfortable. I’m just going to go with a different shoe, though. Normally, I’m good at reading reviews but missed the ball on this one. Other reviews reiterate what I experienced.

A lot to like about this shoe - well made, lots of support, overall good fit for a narrow foot and heel. For some reason, the ankle support created discomfort for me so I had to return them.

My husband purchased these for me, size 9.5 regular, same size as my Salomon insulated mid-hikers which fit perfectly. I could barely get my foot in these because of the cinch laces (I realize i am not fond of this type of lacing system). It is apparent that I must return them, but I'm not sure if I should go bigger AND wider, or buy a different shoe. So uncomfortable. I don't recommend them, if you have a high instep; the cinch lace does not open up wide enough to get a foot in them.

Ordered three pairs--one for myself, and one for each of my daughters. My oldest wears 8.5 to 9 and has fairly narrow feet. The 9 fit perfectly. I usually wear a 7.5 to 8. I ended up going with an 8.5 to ensure I had enough room to wriggle my toes with thicker socks. The length was fine, but the width felt slightly close. These shoes are amazingly comfortable. Not a single blister or any foot pain during almost two weeks walking and hiking around the Grand Canyon, Moab, Bryce, and Zion. The shoes did loosen up as the trip progressed, but I just cinched the laces tighter.

Got this pair as a present for my mom for her El Camino adventure in Spain. She was really happy as the shoes kept her confortable, safe from blisters, and lightweight throughout the long journey

I bought these hiking shoes for my 12 yr old daughter who hates traditional tall hiking boots! She loves the sturdy grips & waterproof shoes. We live in UT and hit the high backcountry & mountains with slippery sandstone & several waterfalls. I returned the size 9 to her current size 8.5 which feel better to her.

I love these shoes- I use them for simple hikes as well as multiple day backpacking trips. The Gore-Tex is a really awesome addition, has saved me on multiple occasions. Would recommend going a half size up if you like to wear thicker socks. 10/10 would recommend!

Got these for my mom and she loves them- says they have great arch support, feels great on her heel (she usually has issues with shoes being too tight) and also thinks they are not as "ugly" as other hiking shoes. She likes them so much that I may invest in a pair myself!

These are my first Solomon's and I love them. Have already put a significant amount of miles on them. I took them on our two week trip backpacking and hiking through British Columbia, and then on lots of day hikes here in Utah. I'm normally a 7.5 but always go up a half size in hiking shoes and I am very happy with the fit. I have a wider foot (nothing crazy) but found that these were comfortable. LOVE the quicklace feature once I got used to it. I've also splashed through streams and they stayed totally dry. May look into buying the high top versions for longer backpacking trips.

I have worn Salomons for over 13 years on a daily basis. Since I live in Maine, I need a waterproof hiking/walking shoe. The first pair I ordered had an unworkable quicklace. I returned them and got another pair. They are so narrow, especially in the toe box. I like Salomons because they generally have room for my toes to move when I'm wearing them. Not these. So I'm going to have to go back to the XA Pro model--which still has the proper toe box.

After being unable to find the X-Ultra 2 GTX (which I have since found) I broke down & ordered the 3 version thinking it was the same shoe. It is not. I have been wearing the 2 for several years without issue. Perfect fit comfortable all-terrain hiking/running shoe. LOVE IT! The 3 came in the same size I've been wearing in the 2 & I could barely get my foot in it. Markedly narrower than the 2. I noticed that the 2 was made in Vietnam. The 3 in India. The difficulty I am having finding the 2 in my size leads me to think Salomon is discontinuing it. Bad move. Unless Salomon can get the new manufacturer in India to construct the 3 to the same parameters as the 2 I guess I'll be looking for another shoe that hopefully works as well.
